A fantastic pale gold colour with hints of lemon grass and coriander. A perfect companion to any oriental meal.

Poured from the bottle at The White Horse on Parsons Green (London), a slightly cloudy pale yellow with no head. The aroma is sharp, of grass and lemon. Subtle malt flavour combined well with a slightly tangy hoppiness and some bubblegum. I found it a bit over-carbonated.

Cask at the Garden Gate Hampstead. Hazy blond colour with small white head. Aroma stinky, bit floral, bit of lemon. Taste is what you would expect but with a touch of yeastiness, bit of marzipan, and citrus. Not bad, not that exciting.

Cask at the Lord Aberconway, Nicholson’s, London. Clear gold pour with a fine, white head. Lightly toasted grass, light sugars, hay, straw, faintly tangy lemon. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Crisp, lightly grassy finish. Lightly salty. Very satisfying.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear, light gold, with a huge, fluffy white head, which lasts well, and leaves good lacing behind. Lemongrass is the dominant aroma, with some fresh, floral hops and a touch of coriander for good measure. Given that I usually cook various Asian dishes, it smells quite similar to my kitchen, in fact. Floral hops introduce the beer, leading into an interesting combination of lemongrass and white bread malt. A weak hint of coriander appears as it moves into a crisp finish of spicy hops and more lemongrass. An interesting and thoroughly refreshing beer on its own, I can imagine that this would go wonderfully well with a nice, spicy Thai curry.

Pretty much.. crap. The coriander doesn’t fit in, the yeast doesn’t add nice flavor and generally a disappointment. Got a little better when a bit warmer.
