Black with espresso crema head. Alluring aroma. Full of dark and roasted malts with some chocolate. Taste is a touch bready with hints of choclate and espresso.

Nice beer. Dark in color with a malty aroma. The flavor has a bit of chocolate and coffee. Finishes nice and dry.

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2013 En fût au Smoqueshack. Couleur noire, mousse crémeuse beige. Arôme de torréfaction, chocolat. Douce en bouche, notes de cacao, malt chocolat. Très grande buvabilitée, bonne beer.

On tap. Brick with creamy light brown head. Roasted malt cinnamon light cocao nibs, hint of hops. Moderate carbonation and mild body, somewhat sweet with some smoked meat, becomes very dry. Worth trying.

Thankfully currently on tap at Jack Astor’s. Black with a fizzy tan head. Aroma was nice. Rosted malt, coffee, a little vanilla. Light and soft. Smooth with a slightly sweet finish. This is the best Hop City beer I’ve had yet.

Black, appearing dark red when held to light. Tan foam. Aroma of voffe, espresso, malt. Body light and effervescent. Bold malty espresso flavour. Pleasant mild bitterness. Finish is looong and dominated by bold coffee, espresso flavours. Bold yet surprisingly drinkable.

Pours a deep auburn with a decent tan head leaving sparse lacing. Aroma of roast coffee, malts and notes of sweet caramel. Taste follows nose, adding some dark cocao into the mix but my draft had such high carbonation that the brew had an almost soda like mouth feel. Aftertaste of burnt sugar, roasted malts and mild alcohol bitterness. A decent brew but would have been more enjoyable without the super high dose of CO2.

Deep black pour with a tight tan head. The aroma is great. Nice dark malt and cocoa with a bit of chewy dark malt character. Toast and a little bit of cocoa and coffee. Some nice toastiness and a little bit of clean dark malt. Lovely brew - very clean.
