3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A reddish copper brown lager with a thick receding lacing mocha head. In aroma, nice bitter chocolate malt with coffee grind, roasty and nice. In mouth, a nice roasted chocolate malt with light grassy hops, a bit thin but overall nice. On tap at loose moose.

LCBO fresh can. Metallic finish, with some roast and lots of lace and retained head. OK drinkability, but the metallic clearly built up as I drank a multiple sample. Also just too sweet and sticky sugary.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep black pour with a tight tan head. The aroma is great. Nice dark malt and cocoa with a bit of chewy dark malt character. Toast and a little bit of cocoa and coffee. Some nice toastiness and a little bit of clean dark malt. Lovely brew - very clean.

2014-08-01. Very dark brown body with a small tan head. 3+ Aroma is mild, light green herbaceous hops character, muted dark malt. Flavour has sweetish core with light roasty malt and dry finish. Average bodied palate, soft carbonation. Can from the LCBO, Toronto

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can, sent to me by Robbie-- thanks buddy! Dark brown with an almond coloured head. Aroma is quite chocolatey. The palate is again mostly chocolate, with a touch of bitter roast. A little sweeter than I like my schwarzes but a nice session nonetheless.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Where and how: LCBO , can 473 ml
Aroma dark chocolate, cocoa hint of coffee. Nice and clean. Bit lacking roasty feel and its marked acidity of German Schwarzbiers.
Top: lighter fizzy bright white look well contrasting with base.
Base: dark brown, slight haze(?).
Palate : medium bodied with thinner walls. Average plus carbonation.
Taste: Mineral notes with proper black charcoal vibe. Refreshing and crisp. Clean.
Other notes Am I impressed with this brew. Yes I am. Solid example for style brew right in Ontario.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
[Can (473ml)] Pours ruby-brown with a huge lasting frothy beige head and lacing on the glass. Malty aroma, bready, a bit nutty and toasty, along with eggshells, chocolate and light hops. Light but pleasant enough malty & chocolatey flavour along with some nuttiness. Average bodied. A good beer but sorry, not a Schwarzbier.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
can. pours clear dark brown mahogany with a nice creamy light beige head offering good retention and lacing. roasted coffee beans, burnt nuts and chocolate, clean yeast esters, very lightly tart red fruitiness, or maybe more of a roasted acidity, bittering resin and coffee - appreciable robustness, dry maple syrup notes, hint of hickory, ashes and metal. moderate carbonation, light body - oily, relatively dry grassy-spicy-resinous-bitter coffee finish. lacking in lagering notes - tad to much roasted acidity. decently crafted robust schwarz tho.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
473ml can. Looks dark. Aroma of light roasted malts, some pale malts, dough, and hints of hops. Flavor the same with an average texture. Nothing really stands out about this beer, but it’s not bad for the style.
