2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This lager poured a deep amber colour with a quick living head. Scents of smoke, malt and caramel. First swig was nice but a little thin in the mouthfeel dept. Malty, smokey flavours most prodominant. Finish is smokey but very good. Thicker would be better... That sounds terrible!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Another Hop City product, and another favorite.
Smells very faintly of malt. Almost a licorice smell.
Pours a dark brown with no visible light through it. Head stays to the end.
Taste is not overpowering of malt. No booze taste.
Decent amount of carbonation. Small bubbles. Little aftertaste.
Overall I was so happy with this purchase. Had on draft at The Works in London. Will be looking for this one again.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the Ashburnham Ale House. Looks about right. Mild, pleasant aroma has a little roast, a little toffee. The flavour is surprisingly complex, with some flavours more typical of a stout. Only more restrained. A solid, very flavourful lager.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Almost opaque black color with a copper hue and no visible activity. Creamy light brown 3 finger head lasting around 6 minutes with some average legs.
Aromas and flavors of toffee, cocoa, chocolate, nuts, fruits, herbal spices. Good balanced taste of sweet caramel and hints of dark fruits and chocolate, with a slightly bitter roasted earthy coffee feel.
Creamy light body with delicate carbonation. Well intensified finish ending with slightly bitter and spicy, dry and smoky, earthy and coffee mouthcoating.
Overall : Well flavored but a little thin and missing a bit of freshness. A good accessible "light stout" craft that feels like an Irish red ale.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown pour with a big tan head. Nose is coffee and chocolate and roasted malts. Sweet chocolate and caramel front but finish provides a little bitterness though somewhat soft. Medium creamy mouth with medium carbonation.

Can: Poured a dark black color lager with a nice off-white foamy head with good retention and light lacing notes. Aroma of roasted malt with some light fruity notes is quite pleasant. Taste is a nice mix of light roasted malt with some bitter notes and some light sweet fruity notes also noticeable. Body is about average with good carbonation. Easy drinking with the right amount of complexity.

Growler, from Liquor Marts in Winnipeg. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma is quite roasty with a bit of dark fruit. Taste is roasty and bitter, some coffee and dark fruit notes. Pretty simple, but decent for the style.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Howler from Steinbach Liquor Mart. Gusher. Dark brown body brown head, some lacing. Vanilla and roast aroma, but subtle. Taste is again faint roast malts, bubblegum, dry kind of watery finish, but some nice roast and sweetness before that. Okay, pretty typical for a schwarzbier.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark, dark cola pour with slow moving carb, and a tawny cream head. Roasty nose of coffee, cocoa, whiff of smoke. Carbonation is too soft, and amplifies the sugars. Slightly grainy. The flavour is decent, but is too sweet. Mouthfeel is above average. Tastes like it smells, which makes this a reasonably good beer, and the crafting is okay. The mild hops in the finish are somewhat deadened by the sugars.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught in the designated glass. The body is dark red, the large head light brown. The aroma is licorice, even some smoke. The taste is surprisingly full for a lager. I like their smoky finish.
