COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When your brewmaster comes up with a recipe as good as this one, you let him name the beer whatever he wants. Here’s what makes our recipe so darn good: a rich burnt orange colour, darker than most lagers, a smooth, medium body with a bold, but pleasant, hop taste, full of flavour, unlike your traditional ’cold-as-ice’ beers with no taste, made with only the best ingredients, including Canadian & English Malts, and German & Czech Hops.

May 16 2012. 473ml can pours a beautiful deep clear amber orange with an inch off white head. Imperial pint at a hotel bar in Thorold. The aroma is fruit hops with a clean, slightly earthy lager smell. Flavour starts with strong sweet hops and leads to bittering hops, finishing with some earthy rich malts. Palate is light and smooth, dry finish. Well balanced body that is dominated by easy fruit-sweet hops. A great darker lager for summer!

473 mL can from LCBO. Pours a gold-orange colour with a nice foamy white head. A solid lager from a brewery that I had never heard from until today.

A fairly good representation of its style, one which I hope will take off in future years. Crisp, webby, dark gold. Don’t really get the name "Hop city" but I guess for Brampton this is the equivalent of a quadruple IPA.

473ml can. Poured into snifter glass creating 3/4" dense white head. Dissipates rather quickly to tight lace. Pretty 'burnt orange' colour (Lovibond 14). Aroma is definitely stronger than most lagers... Hoppy, floral and sharp. Tastes balanced, leaning more towards bitterness in the overtones. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Some pretty complex flavours on the finish - citrus, caramel, and malt. Very satisfying.

16 oz can poured a clear golden amber with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of bread, earthiness and light graininess. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of bread, light carmel and light earthiness with a crisp finish.

super clear brew (over filtered anybody?). clear somewhat amber colour.classic pilsner aroma but more reduced than usual. light brew. hint of metallic note (preservatives anybody?). slightly malty taste lot of co2. i felt cheated of a craft ale experience but better than most macro’s.

On tap @ Frog’n Firkin Toronto. Orange straw hue with a light but resilient head. Tastes of mildly sweet berries, slight metallic (copper?), chalk. Medium body and midly sweet/malty finish. This lager was atypical, not sure I would try it again.

500 mL glass had at a pub. Deep gold-orange body with a long lasting white foamy head. Aroma of resiny pungent hops, earth, and light malts. It does make a good first impression with a solid flavor of light malts and piquante hops but then derrière de skunk rears its ugly tail in the aftertaste and finish, raining on the parade of what seems to be an otherwise solid lager. Could this be just a bad batch? If so, I’m willing to re-assay it in another venue

Imperial pint at a hotel bar in Thorold. The only beery thing I get to do on this quick excursion to Canadia. Clear orange amber color with a nice strong head. Aroma is fruit hops and sweet hops with a clean, slightly earthy and faintly metallic lager underneath. A thicker yet easy drinking mouthfeel. Flavor is strong on flavor hops and low on bittering hops. No flaws, good clean well lagered body that is dominated by easy fruit-sweet hops. Nice drink, would drink again.
