When your brewmaster comes up with a recipe as good as this one, you let him name the beer whatever he wants. Here’s what makes our recipe so darn good: a rich burnt orange colour, darker than most lagers, a smooth, medium body with a bold, but pleasant, hop taste, full of flavour, unlike your traditional ’cold-as-ice’ beers with no taste, made with only the best ingredients, including Canadian & English Malts, and German & Czech Hops.

Can from the LCBO. Clear dark amber with a tiny white head that quickly fades to a ring with some fine lace. Nose is toffee and vanilla. Sweet caramel and butter with a very light bitterness and some roasted nuttiness. Medium slick mouth with active carbonation.

Aroma is light crystal malts, pale citrus hop notes not much happening here. Taste is lightly roasted malts with light caramel notes and transitioned to a citrus and clove bitterness that isnt very complex. Appearance is a clear copper/brown with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

(Bottle). Interesting aroma with hints of caramel, raisins and fresh floral hops. Smooth taste of malt and hops. Not large and complex but easy to drink beer!

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a typically carbonated transparent light cola brown colored body. The odd aroma was musty and lagerish. The mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mediumly tingly finish with a medium sweet aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of mild lager Vienna malt toffee vanilla sweet nutty mild hops and mild brown malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

On draft at Milestones. Pours a caramel colour with moderate white head leaving substantial lacing as drunk. Semi-opaque with visible carbonation. Aromas are of caramel malts, toffee and biscuits. Tastes are sweet caramel malts and some cereal. Hints of toffee. Good on this Moosehead subsidiary for brewing this one.

On tap at The Snooty Fox. Pours a deep reddish amber color with a huge off white head that persists for a while. Aromas of bready pilsner malt with hints of caramel or burnt sugar. Rich bready maltiness with a fair bit of melanoid and spicy hop. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. Nice malty rich lager, I enjoyed this.

Amber pour with fluffy white head. Crisp bread and biscuit. Hops taste a bit stale, but nice caramel malts with some toast.
