2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Sammy (7029) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 13, 2010
Enjoyed on-tap at Shauey’s, near the airport. Served way too cold, but fresh, the brewers are former homebrewers with a sugardaddy grant from Moosewood, who will of course help to distribute them. The smell is mildly cheesy. Pours dark yellow, with an eighth inch of white foam and lace lines own my glass. Average mouthfeel, this is in the style of a helles lager, though not the best interprestation. Good drinkability.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours translucent copper toward dark straw at the bottom of the glass. The head is 2-finger and clingy, and laces well. Nose is grainy corn flakey malt, mild hops and earthy notes. Tastes vienna malty, with a finishing hop bite and smooth crispness.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jercraigs (6473) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 28, 2010
2010-03-20. Crisp amber body with a tiny beige head that fades. Flavour is light, mild bitterness throughout, rainy malts have a light cardboard touch (in a way that is different from oxidation), touch of brief hops and citrus in the finish. 6+ Kiss of fruit, light metallic note in the aftertaste and in the aroma. Muted aroma, light fruit grains. Average palate. Meh. Pretty dull for a brewery with hop in the name. Not unpleasant but I don’t think I’m likely to be back for more. On tap at Rebel House, Toronto.
