COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When your brewmaster comes up with a recipe as good as this one, you let him name the beer whatever he wants. Here’s what makes our recipe so darn good: a rich burnt orange colour, darker than most lagers, a smooth, medium body with a bold, but pleasant, hop taste, full of flavour, unlike your traditional ’cold-as-ice’ beers with no taste, made with only the best ingredients, including Canadian & English Malts, and German & Czech Hops.

Huge white fluffy head and lots of lacing. very little nose. Smooth drinking beer with nothing sticking out. Would drink a six pack on a hot day.

473 can from the LCBO. Amber/copper body with a thick tan foamy head. Toffee, caramel malt on the nose. Espresso and dark chocolate very present in taste. Dry taste with some hop presence, well balanced.

Kind of lame. A pretty usual beer. Sweet malts, some caramel. Hops are mild. Not a ’cold-as-ice’ beer but it isn’t anything complex or outstanding either.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a clear, deep golden with an off-white head. Malty nose, a little caramel. Medium body, very malt forward, fairly clean yet with a slight metallic twist. Subtle hops in the finish. 090914

Aroma is medium sweet malts and earthy. The flavor is sweetish malts, caramel/toffee, a hint of earthy and a tangy/mildly tart finish.

Drank out of a pint poured from a twelve ounce bottle. Looks amazing. A beautiful dark amber brown color, above average carbonation leading to a thick, longlasting, beige head. Tastes like wood varnish.

On tap at Toronto Airport. Copper with a tight white head; malty aroma; soft caramel malt taste; and a dry spicy bitterness to finish. Quite pleasant.

A can from the LCBO. Nice a lager that tastes like real beer, like it well done. Great colour and aroma, lighter than an IPA but still got some attitude. I am becoming a fan of this brand , really good beers well priced , oh and the cans look great. After all it is all about the presentation.

Pour frmo a 12oz bottle. Clear brown brew with white head. Aroma of caramel, nuts, light toast and metal. Taste is a mash up of sweet malt, wood, nuts, toast and slightly toasted grains, a astringent finish with a lingering faint metallic aftertaste. Doesn’t come together well for me.

Transfer from BA review on 2-2-13- Served on tap in a pint glass Appearance – Served a medium golden colored brew with a one finger white fizzy head. The head faded very fast leaving only a small level of lacing. Smell-The smell is rather clean and simple. It’s mainly of toasted malt and a small amount of caramel sweetness. Taste –The taste begins with a smoother malty flavor mixed with a light amount of caramel malt sweetness. As the flavor moves on, the caramel fades some with a more bready flavor coming to the tongue. A light citrus hop flavor accompanies the breadiness. The hop starts out rather weak and gets slightly stronger as it advances to the end where a little bit of floral and hay-like hops joins the profile. Overall the flavors end up leaving a dry and lightly hopped bready flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel-The body of the beer is on the thicker and creamier side for a lager style of only 5 % abv, with a carbonation level that is rather low. The feel really doesn’t suit the style very well as it doesn’t make for an as refreshing and crisp brew as a more traditional lighter body and higher carbonation level do. Overall- It is an OK brew, but this is one I wouldn’t likely go to again as there are much better and/or cheaper out there.
