COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When your brewmaster comes up with a recipe as good as this one, you let him name the beer whatever he wants. Here’s what makes our recipe so darn good: a rich burnt orange colour, darker than most lagers, a smooth, medium body with a bold, but pleasant, hop taste, full of flavour, unlike your traditional ’cold-as-ice’ beers with no taste, made with only the best ingredients, including Canadian & English Malts, and German & Czech Hops.

Aroma of malt with notes of caramel. Clear copper colour. Slight hoppy bitterness with clean malty flavour. Lively on the palate with a medium body. Solid lager with a pinch of flavour - good for summer patios

Weak aroma - heather, weak generic grain - ehhh. Tastes watery, slightly harsh, too sweet and a bit weedy. Watery, a bit flat, somewhat unpleasant aftertaste. Big ’meh’ for this one.

On tap at Café Nostalgica. Clear copper with a frothy off-white head. Flavors are toasted malts, caramel, grass with earthy and nutty notes. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, thin texture.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This is a copper coloured beer with light red fruit and burnt toffee flavours, malt and nutty notes followed by a gentle roasted finish.

Pours a clear copper from the bottle with fluffy off-white head that leaves good lace. Aroma of nice toasted nuts, caramel and toffee, hint of earthy hop. Taste is more malt heavy with a slight hop bitterness. Good for the style, but nothing that amazing.

Big can in a stem glass. Pours amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of toasted and pale and caramel malts, some floral hops, and some dough/bread. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not the worst beer, but not my favorite style.

473 can from the LCBO. Amber/copper body with a thick tan foamy head. Toffee, caramel malt on the nose. Espresso and dark chocolate very present in taste. Dry taste with some hop presence, well balanced.

Kind of lame. A pretty usual beer. Sweet malts, some caramel. Hops are mild. Not a ’cold-as-ice’ beer but it isn’t anything complex or outstanding either.
