When your brewmaster comes up with a recipe as good as this one, you let him name the beer whatever he wants. Heres what makes our recipe so darn good: a rich burnt orange colour, darker than most lagers, a smooth, medium body with a bold, but pleasant, hop taste, full of flavour, unlike your traditional cold-as-ice beers with no taste, made with only the best ingredients, including Canadian & English Malts, and German & Czech Hops.

Free sample at distributor. Medium golden color, clear. Very clean aroma. OK. Decent flavor - fairly hoppy but not worth the price it sells for.

BlackHaddock (4435) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 25, 2015
12oz bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured into a Duvel glass at home on 25th Mar 2015. Nice clear amber with a red hue brew, large white foaming head: very un-lager like. Nutty and woody nose with a mild maltiness, the taste similar in nature: semi-sweet flavour from the malts, late bittering in the finish. Different and unusual for a lager based brew: I liked it.

12 fl oz bottle. Aroma is malty, caramel, light roasted coffee. Quite untypical for a lager. Appearance is dark orange, almost brown with a thick, light brown-ish foam. Taste is light sour, very light sweet and a bit bitter in the end. Medium carbonation, light, dark chocolate like, dryness. Very different from other Lagers but impressively well done. I like this.

Bottle from bierpost.com. Pours a deep amber colour with a medium off white head, quickly dissipated. Aroma is floral, hoppy, caramel, with a light roasting. Medium sweet, mild bitterness. Medium bodied, slick texture. OK.

From Melissa. Golden with white thick foam. Sweet malt, with a hint of fruit in the aroma. Malt, sweet caramel with clear sweet mildly bitter burned aftertaste.

bartlebier (2360) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - JAN 20, 2015
33cl bottle, Maruhn inter festas. Caramel amber pour. Stark aroma of popcorn, rough vienna malt. A rough Saaz hop bite pierces through a decent herbal lupuline base level, while the body remains both sweetish and watery. Ergo: unbalanced Vienna.

Bottle @ Home. Pours amber with a creamy offwhite head, lacings. Aroma of malt, light caramel, and light grassy hops. Flavor is rather sweet, malty, caramel, weak hops. Thin to medium body, average carbonation. 100115

Bottle. It pours clear deep golden with a medium off white head. The aroma is toasted malty and cereal with some hoppy notes. The flavor is toasted and caramelish with lighter hoppy notes.

Pours a see-through brown with a micro-head that stays to the bottom. Nice lacing, shrouds the glass. The taste is malt and caramel with light floral hops. Too thin, like most moosehead brews.
