2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Quiet white wine / Sauvignon Blanc / fruit cup aroma hops with slightly husky Pilsner malt crackers and biscuits and such. Brash carbonation, equally rough malt, notes of saccharine and rice cake, some dirty laundry soap off-notes and a lasting calcium carbonate residue in the mouth. Yeast seems to dirty this one up a bit, though overall it’s very non-expressive so it doesn’t suffer too much. Draft at the brewery in Riwaka.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Rating off memory. This is an ok beer. Pretty generic and somewhat mild hop aroma. Some creamy malt flavour with a subtle citrusy hop background. Decent body and quite quaffable. Nothing special, but it gets the job done.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
To look at it, it does what it says on the tin: it’s golden and has a pronounced flow of carbonation from the bottom of the glass in a constant stream to the top. This contributes to a stable white head. The aroma of grapefruit and lime is appealing along with some grape character. This is manifest in the flavour with tangy bitterness and Meyer lemon. yes, it is a light coloured beer, but it doesn’t suffer from lack of flavour. This contradicts the usual perception that Golden Ales are the airheads of the beer world. Tasty stuff.

Good smell but thin taste. Pretty sure they can do better and I will try again to confirm.
