Brewed with New Zealand and European malts with a big dose of hops from both New Zealand and America. Our RIPA has a full-bodied malt character that packs a punch on the palate and gives off a great, fresh aroma.

[8362-20160526] Bottle. Apple fruity grains aroma. Hazy, dark brown amber with a quick foamy white head. Grainy fruity wood and strange fishy notes at first. Medium body. Average. (6/3/6/3/13) 3.1

2016-05-26. Brown body with a modest beige head that fades. Aroma is fruity, passion fruit, melon. Flavour is quite malty, moderate bitterness throughout, green hops, light melon and fruit. Average plus bodied palate, soft to low carbonation. Enjoyable but maltier than what I am looking for in an IPA. 7/3/7/3/14 Bottle from Hop Federation, Riwaka, NZ.

Muddy looking - very malty nose - far too much malt taste for me - is this rye in there too? - hops very muted and lacklustre - too much like an English brown ale so this isnít for me at all.

500mL bottle that pours deep mahogany with a big off off white head. Massive toffee and citrus burst from the glass with a slight berry note. More of the sweet toffee and citrus in the flavour. Very nice beer.

Solid Red IPA, with a pine rich aroma and long lasting bitterness. Good balance and a strong roasted taste

Pint from Dodsons in Blenheim. Pours a deep amber red with a small head. Minimal carbonation. Earthy resin on the nose. Good mouth feel, lingering hoppy bitterness. Pretty good intro to this brewery

Its goood with threeíoís Nicely gently bitter, and then a great layer of warm sweetness and a reasonable finish. Quaffing myself into a happy place with this, and then Iíll go again. Fantastic colour, nice lacing, it is just nice.

UPDATED: OCT 6, 2015 Enjoyable brew that is a step up from their Golden Ale in both flavour and body. Looking forward to try more of their beers (in both senses).

I love a red beer. Itís a colour that just sets the scene nicely and can carry with it thoughts of ripe peaches, pecans, nectarines, redcurrants, fruit leather, Red Leicester cheese. It suits bright hoppy ales such as this one; rich, fruity, unctuous barley wines; elegant, balanced cask conditioned British session beers... Yep. I love red beer. This one has the most beautiful colour under a coarse latte coloured head that didnít want to hang around. Never mind, the colour is immensely satisfying. Its aroma is just spruce and redwood bark all over as well as subtler raspberry, pecan shell and tomato and chilli jam aromas. This is completely rewarding to my sizeable nose. It is spritzy and has a tingly mouthfeel before a bolt of bitterness shocks the mouth as if thrown by a capricious beer god intent on mischief. This settles into a piquant twinge on the sides of the tongue and then that fruitiness mentioned in the aromas comes out of hiding. A second taste reveals red lollipop sweetness. Itís a beer to be proud of, this one and one Iím sure I wonít have tried for the last time.
