75 cl bottle @ Nuetnigenough, Brussels. Rated on 18.07.2010
Aroma has rather nice hops with fruits and floral notes(!). Flavour is bitter with lots of hops, fruits, gooseberry bush and some Belgian yeast. Refreshing and good!
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Huhzubendah (1979) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 2, 2012
Bottle shared by drabmuh. Thanks Matt!
A: Hazy orange appearance with an inch of white head that coats the glass with sticky lacing.
S: Yeast, spices, hops, grass.
T: Pretty decent taste, but not in the upper echelon of the style. The hop character is nice, with some pleasant yeastiness. Regardless of the category of beer in which this is placed, it tastes much more like a Belgian IPA than a saison.
M: Very dry in the finish. Carbonation level was adequate.
D: Overall, pretty good. Worth a try, but not something I would seek it out.

750 mL capped bottle - Harvest 2009 bottle, sampled March 2012: clear orange gold body w/ lightly persistant ivory film. Fruity aroma with loads of freshly baked dough and oranges and bananas. Light wisps of brett, bitter herbs and honeycomb. Flavor of passionfruit, strawberries, bitter melon and lightly sour grapefruit. Fantastic beer, from one of my favorite breweries, Hautly: I am impressed that you have already figured out my favorite types of beer...Cheers!

Bottle courtesy of and shared with BeerandBlues2 in Dec. of 2010. Color is a hazy orange yellow with good carbonation and a fluffy white head. Aroma of yeast with a light back note of skunk. Flavor is a light fruit taste of pineapple and yeast then a touch of spice and a mellow bitterness on the end. Overall its a very good and well balanced Saison.

Cloudy, orange, good white head. Some yeast and citrus aroma in the nose with lots of citrus and grassy flavors - some of which remind me of a wheat beer. Very dry with a slightly bitter finish. A great summer beer.
