Light lacing. Aroma is light esters and caramel malt. Flavor is caramel malt, esters, and a hint of floral hops. Light to medium body. No lingering or unpleasant aftertaste. A decent beer. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2009 Sun Dog: Pours a hazy orange. Aroma was fresh with shades of citrus. Taste also had citrus elements, but a slightly bitter aftertaste kept this from being a higher rating. With that being said, I found this to be quite tasty and very drinkable. They say Sun Dog is an alias of Hop Hound, but I had 4 star rating differences between the 2.... dwaggs2 (568), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Bottle. Very light and smooth. Pours a hazy orange color. No head. Very weak malts and wheat aroma. Flavor is wheat. Decent beer, good seasonal. wcampbell (584), Central, South Carolina, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 1, 2009 Pretty pathetic. Highly carbonated and fizzy. Light bodied and reasonably drinkable. A little better than a pale lager. Caramel malt, amber ale kind of flavor. No hops and not really any wheat either. Grainy aroma. Lightly dry. iride15 (171), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 28, 2009 Cloudy orange pour with a lot of head. Definitely a mass produced wheat beer. Taste of citrus and caramel, and lacks the hops despite the name. OzarkElmo (136), Poplar Bluff, Missouri, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 26, 2009 I guess the best I can say is it was a decent wheat beer. Cloudy pour with moderate head. Just where the "hops" are I do not know. But it was free at the A-B Hospitality Room after the free tour. Did I say it was free? fidelis83 (734), Clinton, Iowa, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 24, 2009 Pours moderately cloudy amber with a 1 finger light beige head. Aroma is caramel, hints of citrus, raw grain and a metallic note that seems pretty out of place. Flavor is light caramel and toast, sweet grain, mild citrus and planty hops, pineapple, copper, and some straw. Palate is thin dry and slightly over carbonated. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 24, 2009 Ugh, the name had me confused and I thought it was something else. I didn’t notice that it was a Michelob brand until I got home and opened my first bottle.
cloudy orangish/brown pour with lots of head - not much in the aroma, especially with a name of ’hop hound’ but there is some caramel there - flavor has hints of caramel, orange, and slight vinegar - a little wheat and malt and light hopping. Not great but better than the average American big boy’s swill.
