Garrold (1472) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, - MAR 19, 2014
Bottle from Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Light copper colour. Filmy, lasting, white head. Not much aroma to this, maybe some grassy, wet hop. Bit earthy, really. Taste is malty sweetness, with a welcome pithy bitterness, that lingers. Light carbonation, and that bitter finish made this a beer I could imagine doing a session on, no problem. Was top dollar, though, even from Dave.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at Kris Wines. This one opens with quite a hiss and then, not surprisingly pours with a large, frothy white head. The beer is clear, orange gold in colour. The aroma holds some lightly dried out citrus fruits, minerals, sun-kissed grass and pine. Light to medium sweet flavor with dry, doughy and lightly grainy pale bread, some pithy citrus, hints of tangerine and grapefruit, straw. Light bodied with lively, prickly carbonation. Pithy and moderately dry on the finish with restrained piney bitterness, further pale, dry doughy malts, tangerine rind, light grass. Not bad overall. Pretty drinkable.

Pint at JDW in Chancery Lane. A: Golden bronze, clear, small white head, decent retention, lots of lacing. S: Mildly citrus fruit, didn’t have a major aroma, almost got a hint of south German/Czech hop like Hallertau. T: Citrus laced with diacetyl, slightly grassy. M: Moderate carbonation, light body, crisp texture. O: Not quite a session beer, neither was is a beer with great.depth, but overall it seemed to work.

jamestulloch (1451) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 1, 2014
Bottle from Deeside Drinks Emporium. Hazy golden body with a thin white head that quickly fades. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of hangover piss, cloudy cider and metal. Flavour of sweetcorn juice, astringent metal and bitter sparkling sparkling water. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. I had to pour this after two gulps. Rancid.

330ml bottle from Great Grog. pours clear gold, long-lasting white head. Very light aromas, some grassy hops, light malt. Taste is thin, bready, light fruit notes. I’d like to say ’old-fashioned’, if you know what I mean. Not bad, just expected more from a brewery called Hop Stuff. Needs mair hops!

Cask at the Darlington Beer Festival. Pous golden with a white head. A really good hoppy brew. Quite a surprise. Loads of tropical fruit flavour - pineapple and grapefruit along with a resinous finish. Very good and beer of the festival for me.

ATulloch (118) - Aberdeenshire, SCOTLAND - JUN 22, 2014
Bottle from deeside drinks emporium. Pours a clear light golden with a lasting white fluffy head. Not a lot of aroma in this one. Hints of cut grass and biscuit. Sweet tasting with a fruity note (honeydew melon) and a caramel and biscuit linger.

AdiBeer (1358) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 21, 2014
Aroma: light bread malts, some caramel. Appearance: clear gold, small frothy white head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: very malty, caramel, cereals, brews, flat carbonation, light bitters coming up towards the average-long end. Overall: OK bitter, aroma disappoints. Pint at Sumer Brew Fest, London Fields.

330ml Bottle - Hazy gold/amber with a white head. Peach, syrup and a hint of grapefruit in the aroma. Peach, apricot, biscuity malt, syrup and grapefruit can be detected in the fairly nicely balanced taste.

Cask at the Yacht, Greenwich. Amber-gold pour with a white head. Peach, pear and sweetcorn aroma. Peach, pear and citrus flavour. Quite a fruity number. Nice.
