12 oz can. Pours a hazy goldenrod color. Aroma is resiny hops and grass. Flavor is bitter hops up front, with a slight caramel malt backside. Overall I wasnít blown away by this, but itís a decent IPA.

Pours a thin head on a hazy lighter straw body. The aroma has orange, lemon, grapefruit, pine and background mango all wonderfully mixed up. The taste is ramped up orange and grapefruit bitterness starting at the beginning with a long bitter finish. The texture is crisp. Itís super hopped.

12oz can poured into a shaker. The initial aroma of caramel fades, and gives way to pine, dank herbal, and damp notes as well as bread crust and citrus peel coming in late. The beer pours a clear amber yellow with a soapy, white head that reduces to a medium ring and a light, cloudy surface with a very light lace. The beer is highly bitter with a light sweet. The slick, waxy texture has a light fizz carbonation. The medium light body holds notes of crusty bread, bitter grapefruit peel, herbs, as well as pine. There?s a dry, waxy quality to the finish that lingers into the aftertaste with some citrus and pine.

Draft at Din Tai Fung

This is hands-down one of the best IPAs Iíve ever had. Iím sure I have a number of four point something IPAs from the 20-0-somethings, But to break 4.0 in the 20-teens takes something special. This one has that something. Deep hazy yellow pour with a fine creamy white head. Citrus nose reflects deep citrus flavors that arenít the least bit hop-oily, just juicy and delicious, an abundance of hop flavor almost without hop bitterness. This is really, really well done. Iím very impressed by Hop Valley thus far: Citrus Mistress was really good, and this is even better.

Letís see if the bottle in my fridge comes anywhere close...

Golden amber with a two finger white head that dissipates to a thick layer, with lots of lace. Aroma of citrus, piney and slightly dank hops and bready malt. Flavor is semi-sweet mildly caramel malt, citrus hops with a light piney component. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, lively carbonation and a crisp dry finish.

Bottle from The Beer Junction, Seattle
Cloudy golden color with small head. The aroma is a bit piney and citrusy. The mouthfeel is rather dry, there is some caramel and toffee flavor, strong bitterness, but not enough hop qualities.
I wonder if there is a problem of freshness, but there is no date on the bottle.

Can served in a tulip. Pours hazy orange with a medium sized head. Decent retention and nice lacing. Nose has spruce, grass, and cereal malt. No citrus. Medium bitter, minimally sweet flavor. Medium body, creamy-sticky texture and a long, oily, very bitter finish.

Can from Joeís. Hazy goldwith small head and lace. Fresh orangy citrus aroma with a little grainy bready malt. Orangy mild honey crackery sweetness with fresh citrusy orange rind bitterness and and little lingering pine. Medium body nice carbo accentuates hops. Just your average excellent IPA. And just because it seems almost everybody can make an excellent IPA these days doesnít mean that theyíre still not excellent.

Salmoniform (1193) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - SEP 6, 2014
Poured from can to glass. Golden hue with fizzy white head. Aroma is melon, grapefruit, pine, citrus oil, grassy. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium body and zesty carbonation. Taste is dry sweetness followed by a nice hop bitterness that borders astringent in the finish. Overall this is an ok IPA but has a metallic/astringency in the finish that isnít overly appealing.
