Very strong, great taste and flavor. This one will sneak up on you if you drink it too fast. Perfect for the holidays. I don’t think there is a better Winter Seasonal beer out there.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours looking very nice: A dark, coppery auburn amber with a decent, yellowish-brown head. Aroma is somewhat like a barley wine. A strong caramel, some pith and resin, some red fruitiness. Taste is semi-sweet, plenty of caramel, pencil shavings, pith, somewhat like an English strong. British orange preservatives - the unsweetened kind. Surprisingly light, low carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
355ml bottle. Clear dark amber colour with small to average, dense, fluffy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Sweaty, resinous hoppy aroma is supported by malty toffee and caramel notes. Taste is dry hoppy, slightly piney and resinous, a touch of candied orange zest, nuttily malty basis, some caramel and toffee; not without watery stages. Kind of diluted Barley Wine; or, to contribute another facet to a well-kept legend, this is how the passage-surviving, stronger brewed and hopped beers would have tasted like, if the colonialists actually had them watered down as originally intended.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
355 ml bottle. No freshness info.
Pours clear mahogany color with a medium sized head. Sweet malty on the nose, some caramel, resin, maybe faint pine notes and very faint notes of vanilla. Some raisins start to appear as it warms up a bit. Sweet caramel-toffee-vanilla meshed flavor, some malty notes, lots of resin and sweet fruits. Probably not very fresh, hops seem a bit muted out, also, there’s not enough body to back up the alcohol nor the sweetness. So not the best outcome one could hope for. No trouble finishing this one though.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Dark amber in color, with a thick white head. Easy drinking Winter beer. I was hoping for a bigger beer as this is a winter beer. Nice beer with a good finish. Nice spice additions.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bitter aroma without lots of herbs. Also a bit of bread and wheat. Haylike bitterness comes first, than sweet citrus, some pine and herbs. Dry bitter aftertaste.
