Very strong, great taste and flavor. This one will sneak up on you if you drink it too fast. Perfect for the holidays. I donít think there is a better Winter Seasonal beer out there.

PotjeBier (2661) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - APR 18, 2016
12 oz bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Deep ruby red color with a slight haze. Rocky light beige head with pretty good retention and lacing. Aromaís: resinous hops, caramel malts, light red fruit. Fruit is much more upfront retronasal, with the resin still quite strong and caramel more subdued. Flavor is moderate bitter, light fruity sourness, light caramel sweetness. Medium bodied. Long finish with herbal and earthy bitterness.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Pours out a ruby tinged gold, with sparse head, yet leaves copious amounts of spotty lacing. Malt drives the aroma and taste, backup support comes from hops, spice and a bit of alcohol warmth. It all comes together quite nicely for a winter warmer.

Bottled. Pours copper with a slightly tan head. Aroma is hop-forward, some sort of dark fruits, malt, maybe some light cinnamon. Flavor is fig, sort of toffee-like, hoppy finish. Think hoppy barleywine. Itís good but as I continue to drink it, itís just not that complex. Itís a bit flat overall. But it has so much potential. Itís really got a lot going for it and it could be great. But it kinda JUST misses the mark, which is really a shame. Aroma is nice, and the flavor starts off really nice but then just kinda falls off. Shame.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear deep amber with a tan head that dissipates completely. Aroma has a nice sweet grain and spice combination with a bit of caramel underlying. Flavor has a combination of hrass, sweet grains and light spice with a hint of toffee supporting.

Bottle Deep amber witha lively coarse head Lots of woody sharp bitter aroma and flavors notes. Astringent and the ABV is noticable. Bitterness was somewhat rye-like.

A winter ale in the Celebration vein. A hoppy red with plenty of weighty malt balanced by a strong bitterness. The hop aroma is lightly fruity with a note of resinous pine. I like this one a lot, could be a winter favorite.

22. Pours a hazy dark amber with golden orange highlights at the edges and a loose creamy off-white head. Big malty nose, lots of toasty caramel and bread crust, followed up by some dry barrel notes and some piney hop. Creamy medium body, light carb. Darkly toasted caramel, toasty bread crust, pine, and very dry barrel notes on the mid palate. Dry finish.
