3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark amber/copper with a thick rocky creme colored head. Nose is noticeable as soon as the beer has been opened. Spicy hops and earthy notes. Dank. Flavor is BIG, kinda reminds me of a Dale’s Pale Ale. Weird. Flavors of rich, toasty caramel and firm hops with a long, lingering finish. Not over the top for the 8%abv. Very enjoyable overall.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber - seems like it’s older. Muddled hop bitterness but they’re not contributing a ton to the flavor. Big malts - bready, nutty, caramel, toffee. This is ok now, but I imagine can be better.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bomber, been in the fridge a while. Pours clear dark reddish amber with thick creamy off white head. Aroma is sweet slightly nuttly caramel malt and just a hint of earthy hops. Taste is thick lightly roasty caramel malt with bitter but balanced hops, with notes of pine and bark. Sweet, sticky finish. The name is a bit deceptive here - this is fairly small for an imperial red and more of an hoppy amber.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Belmont Station. Pours dark copper with a small beige head. Aroma of hop - with a little roasty malt underneath. Med + body. Flavor is quite malty, but there’s a lot of hop. Getting a hop burn. Hard to pin down any particular hop - the usual suspects - but I think pine/citrus has to be the main thing. Very smooth and mellow, not at all harsh - excepting that ongoing burn. Big and malty with lots of hop. Really something.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Opaque rusty brown/red with a thin tan head. Aroma is malty, with a juicy hop citrus. Taste is pithily hopped and british in character. I guess I was expecting something different. $4/22oz

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Deep amber slightly cloudy. Nice sweet sappy hoppy scents.A sweet and bitter back and forth. Palate is left malty sweet in the end as the hops fade.

This is now called Imperial Red ( but has the rasta lion logo bottom of label) and its now 8.5% alc.
Pours a wonderful dark amber.cloudy and with a lovely looking bubbly yet thick light tan head.
Heavy toffee/caramel malt notes in the aroma..slight spicy/resiny hop.
Nice thick bitter burnt toffee type malts, smooth dark chocolate and cold espresso tasty indeed, hops show inn the end nicely.
Great smooth ,thick yet drinkable mouthfeel.Lovely aftertaste.

3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On draft at the Eugene tasting room. Tried a few house brews on the patio at the new location in Whitaker with local friends. This ale has been renamed ’Imperial Red’ and is an excellent example of the style. The bold malt profile is well balanced by generous application of hops. The brew was a perfect accompaniment to their house sausages. Highly recommended!

The "natty" has been removed from the new Hop Valley branding and this is now labelled Imperial Red. I love red ales but this is too hoppy for my red affections. It's overall flavor is more in line with IPAs.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber thanks to Mike, this was nice. Pours a reddish hue with a medium white head. A big nose of caramel and light fruity hops. In terms of the flavor it was more caramel and biscuit malt than hops, but light bitterness, some dusty fruit. Very nice, smooth.
