Nice and hoppy. Nothing new, but still good. A decent alcohol content, and it’s always nice to try something new from Hop Valley.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2016 Bottle @ cafe Frape, Maastricht. Cloudy golden, creamy offwhite head. Nicely citrusy, spruce hop profile, light but grainy malty base, quite dry and bitter. Good body, medium carbonation.

Sample at the brewpub. Hazy amber-gold color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to a film. Strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of zesty citrus, piney hops and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bottle. It pours hazy orange with a creamy white head. The aroma is fruity hoppy. Mainly orange and citrus notes. Quite bitter hoppy flavor with some tropical hoppy side notes. Some malty notes like crackers and light biscuits. Piney and citrusy finish. Tasty.

On tap at the brewpub in Eugene, Oregon. Amber colored body with a good head that leaves some lacing. Caramel malts are dominated by, but not completely masked by, the hops in the nose. Hops clearly dominate the flavor: this is moderately bitter. Grapefruit peel and herbal tones. Smooth, medium body and near medium carbonation.

Bottle 35,5cl. Cloudy orange with a white head. Rich aroma with malt and flowery hops. Very nice taste with plenty of bitterness, but in balance. Medium length.

Zeer mooi oranje licht troebel bier met fijne witte schuimkraag. Fris fruitig aroma (mandarijn, mango, perzik, tropisch fruit). Fruitige tropische aanzet met een heerlijk lange bittere afdronk. Zéér goed in balans. Goeie ipa.

DuffMan (9542) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 17, 2016
Bottle, shared with the brewery crew. Pours a medium golden hue, lasting white head. Tropical fruit and pine, nicely attenuated malts (much preferable over the golden syrup sweetness of the Alphadelic), long bitter finish.

15cl sample at the Ghent Beer Festival VI (22 VIII 2015). A not too pungent indian pale ale. This Hop Valley IPA has a fruity character for sure, coming from the different hop varieties. But the nose is dominated by dust. The taste also has pine wood and hay flavours. This IPA is described as a complex beer, yes maybe, yet it seems to me as neither fish nor flesh.
