COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
“The Wolfe” is an English style Barley Wine, the Simpson Golden Promise, Caralight, and Bairds Carastan malts give this beer a deep golden hue, with lots of complex malt flavors. The English WGV and Willamette hops balance it out giving it a classic English hop character. Hop Valley’s first Barley Wine, “The Wolfe” is prime for winter sippin’!

Keg at the taproom, 10/11/14. Lightly hazed golden amber with a decent beige covering. Nose is rich in dark fruitsm dates, toffee, light cocoa notes, nutty. Taste comprises caramel, sweet tempered with bitterness, light hop notes, dark fruit rinds, dates. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Easy drinking barley wine but doesn’t hold much depth.

Orange amber with a medium white head, good retention and lace. A big dark fruit aromas with brown sugar and citrus. Flavor is big dark fruit sweetness offset by big piney and citru hops. Full body, minimal carbonation, creamy - almost chewy - mouthfeel and a warmly boozy finish.

Tap @ HAF 2013... Poured hazy amber-ish orange. Pretty bitter and super hoppy for an "English" style barley wine. Some malt sweetness with caramel tones too. Noticeable booziness in the finish.
