3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle bought from Roth’s Sunnyslope Market in S.Salem.
Pours a good porter dark brown with a lovely thick, creamy and bubbly tan head.
Aroma a little subdued but it has the typical porter roasted malts and a touch of vanilla essence.
Flavour is well balanced with more of the roasty, burnt malts and the vanilla well mixed in but not too forward ( like many vanilla porters). Good.
Mouth feel is nice and smooth ..no trouble getting this over the tongue!
Very nice beer..better than the usual vanilla porter for sure.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
From bottle. Dark brown color. Aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. Taste is deep roasted malt, dark chocolate, and a little more vanilla flavor. Fairly smooth but the roasting almost is too overpowering in the finish, concealing the vanilla.

Aroma has roasted malt, coffee and vanilla that overrides the two previous. Flavour is dry with vanilla, some coffee and hints of chocolate. A bit weird but nice.
