Bomber from Made in Oregon. Pours very dark brown with a slight beige head. Milk chocolate aroma. Maybe some vanilla. Med body. Flavor is bitter chocolate with some vanilla. Gets a little earthy. Not sure about coffee. It’s bitter, but chocolate? coffee? hop? Can’t tell. Finishes well towards dry.

Bottle shared with Erwin Van Moll and Stefan @ Van Moll Brewpub. Red brown color, red glare coming through, medium sized off-white to beige head that leaves fair to good lacing. Aroma has strong vanilla, slightly roast and some malts. Taste lightly malts, vanilla, fortunately not that much that it becomes (Dutch) "hopjesvla" flavored. Body is average to medium, carbonation suits the beer. Quite well balanced.

Had it at Beermongers in Portland. Pours a dark black color with a medium brown head. The aroma is rich roast and vanilla. The flavor is a basic roasty porter with lots of natural vanilla notes, some sweetness but not cloying. Quite good.

Bottle:   Deep brown, moderate frothy light beige head, nice lacing.   Roasty nose.   A little ash and campfire, but not really getting much Vanilla.   Ah, there we go... the Vanilla comes out on the tongue.   Roasted malts are there, but are light.   Vanilla isnt too strong, but hefty enough that you cannot miss it.   Smooth overall, but the body could use a little more malt backing.   The roastiness comes back at the finish.   Decent beer, the Vanilla isn’t too soft, nor does it make it a mess (as some others I have had), but I really wished this one was a bit more chewy.   Otherwise pretty interesting.
