Bottle number 138 thanks to GRG1313. Pours with a hazed bronze body with a tan head. Aromas are spicy, woody, mild funk, vanillin, plums and dark fruits. Flavors are spicy, fruity, currant, and plums. Quite tannic. Also a slight raspberry note. Lively bubbles, dry and peppery.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a murky amber color with an off-white head. Tart fruits are present on the nose, especially plums and raisins. Thereís a definite acetic quality as well as perhaps some port or sweet red wine. The flavor is a bit leathery and has a strong balsamic note. Some more heavy red wine character and similar dark fruit notes. Definitely acetic, but not bracingly sour. Medium body with low to medium carbonation.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared by Sean, thanks! Pours a hazy, light brown with a small head. Smell is bourbon (kbs!) sweet malt and sticky tart plums. Taste is pretty sour with dark fruit and oak with much less bourbon in the taste than nose for me. Thin-medium mouth feel. Finishes a bit dry from the oak, but mostly sweet outside the sourness. Pretty easy to drink.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle acquired via trade. Thanks! Pours a richer murky brownish hue, some light on the edges, frothy whitish head dies to a film, laces small, whitish small ring. Aromas are quite sour: sour plums, cherries, red wine, oak. A touch of vinegar, malts, and some oak really comes through. A nice deep sour dark fruit essence, plums really come through, potent and oaky. Initial is medium bodied, adding a bit of girth to the palate with healthy sour plums, some cherry, and red wine. Decent oak, lingering dark fruit, sufficient sourness but dark mellow fruit sweetness into the back. Lingering sourness, moderate with a touch of an acidic wine edge, with some touch of raw or tannins touch. Actually, the nose is quite potent, the beer much more drinkable than expected. I enjoyed this, but can see others not. The beer itself settles down, less intense than the nose letís on. A bit complex, but not very. Just tasty, the nose could chase some people off based on intensity. Forget about nuance with this beer..

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2011 22oz bottle. Thanks to Adam for sharing... Pours a deep caramel toffee shade with less intense edges with a medium off-white head that quickly dissipates leaving a thin film... Aroma is assertive almost brash sour acidic plum. Intense and puckering borderlining on offensive. Whoa. After warming a bit of earth and paper surface.. Flavors provide relief with sour plum, on a less intense scale. Sour, somewhat muddy with caramel accents. Becomes a touch sweet mixing well with the sour. Medium to full bodied. Some acetone on the backend. Not too sure about this one.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle. Pours murky brown with no head. Nose is rough, lots of acetone, some sweet raisin and pepper in there too but mostly an intense balsamic vinegar thing. Some woody barrel notes open up. Flavors have are pretty intense, loads of vinegar, balsamic, prune juice. Ugh.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle. Thanks for sharing, Sean! Stemmy, pit-fruit aroma. Darkish. Figgy, vinous darker fruit flavors. This definitely says, "I have prune juice in me". Some stronger floral notes. The acidity is restrained and counter-balanced by the thicker plummy sugars, but never cloying. A bit of umami from the plums.
