draft at brewpub. aroma is clove and light grainy note, yeast phenols secondary to outright lemon. appearance is ultra hazy, lasting head and light legs. flavor is late grainy washout, pleasant. spicy up front, orange freshness recoils. drier end than i prefer for style, lack of juicer fruit.

On tap at HopCat-Grand Rapids. Milky banana-clove weizen aroma. Sweet and bready. Muddy amber-orange with thin head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts sweet with banana, bread, light clove, yeasty with smooth chalky finish. Lingering banana sweet after.

Draft. Orange, banana, clove, and toasted wheat malt aroma. Murky golden yellow with small head. Sweet earthy clove and orange/lemon/banana malt flavor. Nice solid Hefeweizen but malt is a bit light.

Pailhead (4931) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - JUL 26, 2014
On tap: The aroma consists of moderate strawberry and rhubarb with a hint of citrus. It pours a cloudy dull orange with a small white head. The flavor starts with tart strawberry and a touch of citrus. The finish has some tangy wheat notes and light clove. It’s light bodied with light-moderate carbonation. Overall, I like Hefeweizens and this a well done and legitimate fruited Hefeweizen and not a dumbed down fruited American Wheat.

Tap at Hop Cat - pours cloudy yellow. Nice clove notes, not getting as much flavor as I would like. Feels muted. Solid hefe, I just wish the clove and banana were more present.

Draft to taster at HopCat. Looks good for the style; a hazy orange with white head that dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells and tastes of banana and clove with a solid mouthfeel. A solid hefe.

Tap at Hop Cat. This pours an orange color but with grapefruit. It is not filtered. A lively orange nosewith clove. It does not really look like a hefe but does tastes like one. It is very sweet with bubblegum. There is some orange peel, cloves and banana. This is not bad at all.

Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. I might have enjoyed this more knowing it was more of a weizen and not being told that it was a hefe. It did not hit the spot as a hefe. Malty and a bit bitter, with a soapy head. Decent drinkability.

On tap at The Hopcat. Murky banana yellow with a medium white corwn. Aroma of banana, clove and bready yeast. Taste of banana, yeast, clove and a hint of citrus. Semi dry with a spicy finish.
