Scopey (6865) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 17, 2014
Cask at Craft Beer Co. It pours deep brown with a small light tan head. The nose is soft, roasty, dark chocolate, toast, coffee and a touch of dark fruits. The taste is smooth, roasty, toast, coffee, dark chocolate, light peppery notes and faint dark fruits with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Not quite as hoppy as I wad expecting from these guys. Rather smooth and well rounded. Easy drinking given the abv. Nice.

Garrold (1336) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 2, 2014
Tap at Port Street Beer House, Manchester. Just about black. Bubbly, thick, lasting, tan coloured head. Coffee beans. High cocoa content chocolate. Some dried fruit, too. Taste is roast bitterness. A hint of sweetness, in a dark chocolate fashion, underlies. Bit of chew on the palate. Big, dry, roasty finish. Quality. (Looks like I got it in good nick?).
