"Helles Golden Beer"
"Natural pilsener with organic barley and hops." A golden beer with luscious tropical fruit aromas and a crisp clean finish. Brewed naturally from the purest ingredients and true zymurgy, GREEN DAEMON is devilishly good with curries, seafood and fusion dishes, or simply to enjoy on its own.

Bottle at home. Pours golden with a tint of orange and a tight white head. Slight hop aroma. Sweet to start with a little balancing bitterness. Grassy and floral, hints of green apple and lemon sherbet. Quite well-carbonated and good lacing. Dry finish.

On cask at the Artillary Arms. Pours a clear golden yellow with an off-white head. The smell is toasted grain, some wetness. The taste is toasted grain, some sweetness ending slightly crisp. Light in body with light carbonation. Just blah in my opinion.

500ml bottle. Poured a hazy golden colour with a small and quickly disappearing white bubbly head. Aromas were grassy and fruity. Taste is crisp, sharp and refreshing. Tastes ok but the flavour does struggle to come through. Drinkable though.

Good, but I feel it could be A N Other of these beers. But then, these beers are very nice, so I’ll not moan too much. Hoppy and peppery. Don’t get the tropical fruit the label boasts but then my palate is crap. 7/10.

Cask at The Old Thames Inn, London on 10 Jun 2012. Poured a lightly hazy, pale golden colour, with a thin white head. Aroma of lager malt, soft fruit and hay. Biscuity malt flavours, with lemongrass and caramel. Finish was light residual citrus, caramel and grain.

50cl bottle from Asda, Farnborough. A straw coloured pour with a white head; musty, honeyed aroma; full bodied grainy taste with some sweetness and a reasonable amount of grassy hops. A reason attempt at the Helles style.
