50 cl bottle.
Pours clear copper color with a medium sized head. Aroma of pine needles, resin, caramel malts and mild hops, some dried fruits also. Flavor of dry malts, hay, mild nutty notes and fruits. Some goose berries and nettle on finish. A bit too "british" and malty for my taste, otherwise decent.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beesbeer (358) - WALES - JAN 18, 2013
Could be a session beer by taste which belies the medium strength, so a little bit on the dangerous side maybe? Makes me think of Kent when I drink it, just like the brewers description, so I guess the flavours of traditional hop varieties are coming through in crisp profusion. It has that sharp citrus clean hoppy aftertaste on the finish. Really really nice.

500ml bottle (Canterbury Cathedral Shop)
Slightly fruity aroma, some plum and greengage. Nice hppy bitter bite. Dry earthiness. Quite a tingle. Good characterful bitter, in particular for a bottled, filtered beer. Earlier Rating: 8/29/2012 Total Score: 3.4 500ml bottle (Unicorn, Canterbury) (6:3:7:4:13=3.3)
Simple sweet mashy aroma. Some almost smoky dryness about the finish. It’s got a nice long bitter bite too. Nice full body, good roast there too - gentle wooliness later. Nice solid bitter.
Rerate: Cask (Parrot, Canterbury) (6:3:7:4:14=3.4)
Similar to the bottle. A touch more ginger, again, a very dry finish. Not so mashy in the aroma. Just prefer it a touch. Bumping overall up by one. Nice!
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Benzai (4436) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - SEP 15, 2012
50cl bottle @ home. Clear copper to amber color, small to medium sized beige head that leaves a decent lacing. Don’t get much aroma other than a fair amount of maltyness. Taste malts, bitter. Not really much more to it to be honest. Decent beer though, easy to drink, nice to start the evening with. A bit low bodied, low to medium carbonation.
