thebeertourist (1671), Oslo, Norway May 6, 2008 Bottle. Well-carbonated amber beer with a thick offwhite head. Pine, grass, berries and toffee aroma. Good piney hop bitterness, some fruit and a touch of toffee sweetness. Slightly watery texture. Jolly good.
Mungo (2464), Southampton, Hampshire, England Apr 1, 2008 Bottle From Bitter Virtue. Sweetish malts and
leafy hops with a hint of citrus. Hop overwhelmed by malt sweetness.
Drinkable. johndoughty (1554), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Jan 3, 2008 Bottle. Although it describes itself as an IPA on the label it clearly isn’t. Lively and well carbonated it has a bitterness that is quite pronounced but not a lot of hoppiness. Also has a sharpness that come close to really turning me off. Disappointing. fonefan (4000), Ulfborg, Denmark Nov 14, 2007 Bottle. Clear medium orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, pine, moderate malty, roasted, caramel. Flavor is moderate sweet and moderate to heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (281007) sm89walt (167), Norwich and Canterbury, Norfolk, England Oct 16, 2007 Bottle. Slightly hazy light amber beer with no head and very little carbonation. Orangey hop aromas with an apple malt character. Mild floral flavours with an odd yeasty taste. Flat and light mouthfeel with dry hops on closing. Perhaps this was from an ’off’ batch, but it wasn’t much like previous reviews.
