Bottle. Although it describes itself as an IPA on the label it clearly isn’t. Lively and well carbonated it has a bitterness that is quite pronounced but not a lot of hoppiness. Also has a sharpness that come close to really turning me off. Disappointing.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MesandSim (7118) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 28, 2006
A Mes rate: 50cl bottle from Shamansburys. Not what I would usually expect from an IPA. Hoppy nose with some malted toffee. Cloudy amber appearance with some sediment floaters. More malt in the flavour backed up by the dry sharp hops. Brief and odd salt and pepper finish. Not bad

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 olio (4080) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 2, 2013
50 cl bottle.
Pours clear copper color with a medium sized head. Aroma of pine needles, resin, caramel malts and mild hops, some dried fruits also. Flavor of dry malts, hay, mild nutty notes and fruits. Some goose berries and nettle on finish. A bit too "british" and malty for my taste, otherwise decent.

50 cl bottle, Pours bright amber, almost no head. Aroma is sweet malts and peach. Taste is sweet, but it rounds off with a nice hopbitter and dry aftertaste. Could have done with a bit more body, but all in all not bad.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, Lonodn on 15th November 2010. Copper with thin white ring of foam round the edge. Yeasty aroma. Quite sweet and fruity in-mouth, berry and citric fruit notes. Grapefruit finish, shorter in duration than expected. Light mouthfeel. A good quench, a little over session strength.

50cl bottle @ home. Clear copper to amber color, small to medium sized beige head that leaves a decent lacing. Don’t get much aroma other than a fair amount of maltyness. Taste malts, bitter. Not really much more to it to be honest. Decent beer though, easy to drink, nice to start the evening with. A bit low bodied, low to medium carbonation.
