Fruity and yeast driven, this Belgian styled ale is thirst quenchingly dry and dangerously drinkable. But, wait, there’s a yard to mow and a garden to weed! It’ll have to wait! HopDog’s Belgian Lawnmower is a great post mowing beer (hence the name!) and our Summer seasonal release. Brewed with 4 malts and 2 different hops and fermented with a characterful Belgian yeast, the Lawnmower is styled around the Belgian ales brewed to satisfy the thirst of farm workers in days gone by. Available only for a limited time. * HopDog BeerWorks suggests that you get the chores done before popping the green cap!

Bottle. Pours clear hazed pale gold with big off white head and excellent lace. Aromas of cloves, banana, grain, lightly sweet and aromatic malt and light floral notes. Light medium body, doughy yeast, banana notes, lightly clove and grain rounding out the dry finish. Med high carbonation and lingering graininess.

190715. While I hadn’t been mowing the lawn before I had this beer it still went down very well, even though it was quite a cool night. I purchased this bottle on line from Beer Cartel and it was a very good beer. This is a beer that I had heard a lot of good things about but had not been able to get my hands on a bottle until now. All the qualities of a good Belgian ale without the high alcohol content. In the glass the beer looks good with a colour that would do the the brightest sunrise proud. While the foam was not substantial there was still enough to sit nicely on top of the beer. Rockmelon and peach in the aroma and this transferred into the flavour which had quite a lot of fruitiness to it. There was a long dry finish. This is a beer that is easy to drink.

From a bottle. Very light and refreshing with a dry fruity finish, this would be dangerous on a hot day.

Bottle, 8C. Hazy golden amber with a modest white head. Aroma of hay, lemon, cloves. Light bodied. Hay, tangy wheat, some apricot, rather prominent cloves in a dry and fairly bitter finish. Hits the spot on a hot night.

From a 330ml bottle on 24/1/2015. Pours a very cloudy golden with a small to medium head. Has a slight yeasty aroma with a hint of fruit. Taste wise, it delivers biscuity malt, some sweet citrus fruit, lots of Belgian yeast, and a firm, very dry, satisfying, slightly puckering bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. This is a very refreshing, quite distinctive brew which would make a fine thirst quencher on a hot summer’s day.

330ml bottle. Clear orange appearance with a medium sized white head. Nose offers mildly spicy yeasts on a light pale malt bill and mild citrus hops. Palate is light and refreshing with a medium sweet and fruity flavour profile and a lovely dry finish with low bitterness. Does exactly what it says on the box!

Almost clear golden body with lasting white head. A little spicey in the taste with not a lot else going on, easy drinking, simple, what I expect from a belgian pale ale.
