3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle (330ml, bottled in Sept 14). Hazy reddish brown with a decent beige head and a few precipitates at the bottom. Nose provides strong biscuity malt aromas with notes of burnt sugar, dark fruits, and a hint of coffee. Palate is deliciously smooth and malty with a decent fruity dry hop finish that satisfies. Medium body and carbonation. A fine hoppy amber ale.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
An exploding bottle at just on cool. More head than beer. Chill haze evident, as well as a mist from the bottle conditioning. Ruby chestnut with very fine conditioning. The head is tolerant and persistent leaving a wavey lace. A strange aroma. Nail varnish, stewed rhubarb, beetroot leaves, strawberries and tart cherries, rusted swarf and plastic. A complete 360 on the palate. Dry and woody; fruity front with a mildly bitter, dusty and earthy finish. Nice length of hops. A touch vinous with a sourness that draws in on the saliva glands. Rough and raw. Not bad, just a bit hickelty-pickelty! (33cL, bottled December ’12, Cellarbrations Carlisle)

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from the growler an opaque dark copper red with a light head. Yeast and sweet citrus aromas. Light carbonation and sirupy thick. A hit of sweet malt fills the palate followed by a mild bitterness that hangs around and doesn't let go.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Red hued amber with a frothy head and good lacing. Aromas of caramel biscuits and toast. Hop bitterness works through the entire beer, with flavours of cherry medicine, roasted malt and traces of alcohol despite only being 5%abv. Slightly over carbonated for a beer with such a big grain bill leaving a real fizz in the mouth (out of bottle, I didn't experience this on tap)

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle. Pours an opaque deep copper amber, with a large off-white head, which lasts fairly well and leaves decent lacing. The aroma has plenty of biscuit and toffee malt, with some lime hops notes in there as well. Strong lime and kiwifruit hops up front give way to biscuit malt and faint candied fruit in the mid-palate. More lime hops come through in the finish. This is an impressive effort from a brewery I’ve never really heard of before. Whilst not the most complex red IPA/hoppy amber out there, it is well-balanced and very drinkable.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Not a bad pour, quite a bit of caramel on the nose and taste and goes does fairly easily. A sold beer but nothing amazing.
