3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow with lots of carbonation, the head is white and lacy. The aroma is sweet fruit with some yeast. Taste is yeasty with some fruit and finishes alcohol with hops.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Brouwers. Light brown cloudy appearance with a sweet and yeasty aroma. The powerful 8% is masked by the sweet apple and pear more than medium carbonated flavor. It does not remind me of any other tripel. It is not too heavy and refreshing.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught (Live and Let Live, Cambridge)
Light amber, very little head. Sweet malty aroma - says Belgian, and portends well. Rich malty taste, light malts, but very emphatic. Crisp hoppy hints give it some bite. Beautifully well balanced, and there’s no way in heck that this feels like an 8%! A truly marvelous brew, one of van Steenberge’s best.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
0.33l bottle. Pours enormous head (whole glass with no body at first!) which diminishes quite soon and murky yellow body. Aroma is sour with pine hops...vinegar... Flavor is still quite sour, citrus and other acidic things present. It has oily texture and not much carbonation, with, again, sour finish. As of BB 25/07/09 I assume it was not bad bottle, just it’s not my type. Really different than other triples... Interesting and not so bad...but I don’t think to buy it again.

Yellow orange beer with a huge head. A lot of carbonation. One can even hear the CO2 bubbles coming up at the surface. A bit sourish aroma. Also yeasty and some malty sweetness popping up. Nice bitter taste. A bit tinkling on the tongue. A bit yeasty and some spicy notes. Medium bodied.
