5 Dec 05 (Breakfast and Beer - Daylesford) Lovely stone aprcicot malt fruit hop aroma. Cloudy yellow brown colour with a good head and lacing. Light spiritous light fruit and reasonable hoped flavours. Thickish palate with a tangy bitter finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
33 cl bottle, ’bbe’ July 08. Light orange, almost clear, big frothy but no so stable head, very sparkling with a lot of large bubbles clinging to the glass bottom. Aroma: hoppy, orange peel, phenolic, rubbery, salty biscuits. Grainy taste with a tart, slightly citrusy background and a long, dry, bitter aftertaste. Somewhat thin, watery palate; long warm alcoholic finish.

2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Near gushing to enormous, very dense & creamy off-white head, leaving some lace; clear golden colour. Dry nose, sugar, alcohol and coriander, faint citrussy. Horrible coriander overload, completely overpowering any other possible flavour, with the exception of a warm-sweet alcoholimpression. Slight slickness (the horrible weed too?). I’m developping an absolute coriander intolerance. Brewers will have to relearn to brew beer with beertaste, instead of making spiceinfusions. Send the lot to Franconia, for Pete’s sake!

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
(Bottle 25 cl) My version at 7% ABV - based on a recipe from "De Hopduvel" in Gent. Rather pale golden with a huge, rocky head that refuses to vanish. Dry, bitter, slightly flat. Not the most thrilling Tripel. 150795
