UPDATED: SEP 4, 2007 Hazy gold, undulating foam. Rich and silky. A heady waft of booze to knock you sideways. Rye bread and pine. A nose you can reach out and touch. Figgy fruit, yeasty dryness. Slightly sour. A savoury, unspicy, impressively hoppy Belgian ale.

Tasted it at Gent in t’Galgenhuis. Tasted 3 beers having to do with the dead. One is t’Galgenbier, second guillotine and then this one. A stropken is a different name for a galg. A nice and good beer with some bitterness . A good and tastefull beer. Earlier made at Brewery ’T Haemerken that was alos a little strong 8.5 %. Just be carefull your head is still free after drinking it

Ungstrup (29017) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JAN 26, 2007
Bottled. A hazy orange-amber beer with a huge bubbly light orange head. The aroma is sweet dusty hoppy and fruity. The flavor is sweet fruity, both citrus fruits and apples, but also with notes of spices and caramel, leading to a lightly bitter dry end. Very easily drinkable.

Clear golden color with a small but lasting head. Distinctive aroma of sourish pear juice and some sweet malt. Pear-fruity, flowery-hoppy flavor with pale malts and a hint of sourness. Light to medium-bodied palate with balanced carbonation. An interesting brew in its own way. Feels like a mixture of pils and fruity ale. Also feels more like 5% than 7% in ABV.

Bottle White, creamy head. Clear, amber body. Nose of grain, molasses, spices and some alcohol. Lightly sweet, moderately bitter initial flavour. Lightly sweet, ligthly bitter finish. A good VS-beer, but still as usual not excellent.

Yeast and sour dough nose, hazy orange color with a foamy head. Orangy malt base, fruity, and sugary. Fizzy carbonation. Dry end - like fresh dates. Thin. The fruitiness is the highlight. Fun and enjoyable.

Golden color with spider web sediments. Small film of a head. Glue, sour dough nose. Super fizzy carbonation. Fresh dates and apricot taste. Nice.

Bottled. Clear golden. Similar aroma to Hopduvel Blondine with it’s intense herbal spicyness. Medium sweet with juicy orange and peach flavour. Intense and overall hard to distinguish from Hopduvel Blondine, except for the slightly lighter body, and less perfumy nose.

(Bottle 25 cl) Another beer from Bios brewed according to a Hopduvel recipe. A noose-beer??? They really have a morbid sense of humour in naming their beers those Belgians. Golden with a nice frothy head. Feels rather light in body in spite of the alcohol. Massive bitterness with an underlying sweet note. A bit hard to pinpoint this. 240397
