COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Using only dark malts combined with the freshness of Hopf's own yeast, promises a pleasant taste. An authentic dark wheat beer.

Kein großes Bier füwahr. Nett im bananigen Bereich mit etwas Säure, aber alles in allem dumpf und gar leicht metallisch. Ganz ok.

Cloudy, milky dark hazelnut brown in colour with creamy head and smooth body. Nose of malt and nuts. Taste of mild rich yeast, dark nuts, torf, malt, roasted caramel and leaves. Easy and nice to drink.

Bottle at Altes Mädchen, Hamburg. Pours dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is wheaty, caramel. Taste is sweet malty with some esthers and banana, good, but reminds me more of a dunkel .

Bottle from RSB, pours a deep chocolate brown with an initially huge cream head, banana bread and a little toffee on the nose, initially yeasty and fruity, it quickly turns sweet in the mouth, with more banana and toffee coming through. A faint bitterness in the finish. A little too sweet for my taste, but otherwise nice, like a cross between your average Dunkleweiss and a Munich Dunkel.

Bottle from red white and brew. Pours dark brown with an inch or two of khaki foam that leaves some lacing. A couple of banana notes on the nose. A bit of clove on the tongue. Mouthfeel was kind of thin. Finishes a tad metallic. Eh!

500 ml bottle.
Pours a dark brown, almost black with a white creamy head. Aroma of wet earth, rye bread and banana. Flavour of sweet caramel, banana, clove, rye bread and yeast. Some unpleasant sourness once it warms up. Medium bodied, high carbonation and a sweet, malty, bready finish. Decent.

This is very, very sweet, just faint hints of normal weizen flavors. Dark golden brown with fair head, but sweetness is overpowering . This is not very good.

Cloudy mud brown with a lively tan head and spotty lace. Aromas of caramel malt, dark fruit, brown sugar and some spiciness. Flavors are similar, with the caramel sweetness dominant, but nicely offset by a grassy earth hop bitterness. Medium body, extraordinay pillowy soft mouthfeel, lively carbonation and a gently sweet finish.
