Using only dark malts combined with the freshness of Hopf's own yeast, promises a pleasant taste. An authentic dark wheat beer.

Serving type: bottle Apearance- Pours cloudy medium boron with a nice head, and almost no lacing. Aroma- Smell is a mix of a lot of aromas wheat, banana, dried fruits and also sweet characteristics. T/P- Very mild with not bitterness definite taste of banana and clove Overall- Very drinkable, nice balanced wheat would defiantly buy this one again. There might be some better Dunkles out there but this is one not to pass up.

Half liter bottle from Beer Run. Pours a hazy brown color with a large creamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of wheat, raisin, heavy spice. The taste is yeast, wheat, spice, banana, herbal hops. Thin-medium bodied. Decent.

Bottle, 5.0%. Roasted aroma, a little lagery. Cloudy dark brown colour. OK tan head. The flavour is roasted at first, caramelly with a watery finish. Not so flavourful, but OK.

Bottle traded with McTapps & MichaelBruch, shared with MiP. Pours cloudy copper brown with stable beige head. Clear, sweet aroma of malt, caramel and banana. Bitter, hoppy flavour with notes of malt, caramel and a touch of banana. Mildly bitter and sourish aftertaste. Decent but not extraordinary.

500ml bottle from some beer store in Gräfelfing. Slight gusher that pours a deep brown colored body with a slight ruby hue. Finger-width, frothy, tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is somewhat nutty and lightly sweetened with touches of bready caramels, a light wheat note, some toast, and a few banana esters. Flavor is similar. Lightly sweetened, somewhat grainy and bready caramels with a light wheat note, a light toastiness, banana, a few other fruity esters, and a touch of spicing. Finishes clean and very lightly roasted before leaving a medium length aftertaste. Thinner body and a somewhat active, medium-high, soft carbonation. Overall, a decent dunkel. A touch thin, but not bad.

Kein großes Bier füwahr. Nett im bananigen Bereich mit etwas Säure, aber alles in allem dumpf und gar leicht metallisch. Ganz ok.

Cloudy, milky dark hazelnut brown in colour with creamy head and smooth body. Nose of malt and nuts. Taste of mild rich yeast, dark nuts, torf, malt, roasted caramel and leaves. Easy and nice to drink.

Bottle at Altes Mädchen, Hamburg. Pours dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is wheaty, caramel. Taste is sweet malty with some esthers and banana, good, but reminds me more of a dunkel .

Bottle from RSB, pours a deep chocolate brown with an initially huge cream head, banana bread and a little toffee on the nose, initially yeasty and fruity, it quickly turns sweet in the mouth, with more banana and toffee coming through. A faint bitterness in the finish. A little too sweet for my taste, but otherwise nice, like a cross between your average Dunkleweiss and a Munich Dunkel.
