3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
0.33l bottle brought from Budapest by a friend who got it from another friend who got it for mi at Armando’s place :D. Anyway, thanks! Shared with heavy and ogivlado. Big expectations for this one after having tasted Bitterfly, but hey, the styles are quite opposite to each other, who knows what would end up. Luckily, the expectations were mostly met. Poured an opaque extremely dark brown body with a dark tan/brown head, medium sized that rose with a beautiful cascading effect. Well done! The aroma starts with raisins, light soy sauce, hmm... respectable, vague alcohol, dark malt. Hmmm.. candy something. The taste has a soft dark malt background, chocolate and vague coffee. Roasty bitterness up front, herbal.notes that got in there from the hops. Light notes of cappuccino. Lovely soft mouthfeel. Nougat? Some alcohol attack. Very respectable, not bad at all.

Very strong oaky aroma with espresso undertones. Little lighter on the taste, doesn't quite match the aroma. Slight bitterness and washes down smoothly. Nothing much left on the palate.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at home, 8th February 14. 666 rating, the number of the Angry Beast! This is a nice impy, slightly thin on the mouth feel, aroma is unusual, taste is sweet, some bitterness and slightly sour. I liked it and easy drinking for the ABV

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very good Russian Imperial Stout. Inky dark with pleasant frothy head. In aroma mainly roasted barley and alcohol (spirit notes). The second sniff gives you coffee, chocolate and a touch of prunes. Body is moderate dry/sweet with very oily texture supported with carbonation at a proper level. It warms you up quickly with powerful dose of well masked alcohol. The aftertaste is slightly sour and bitter in a second place. It’s very drinkable and it would be a great companion to a dessert.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(330 bottle from Csak a Jó Sör, Budapest)
Ridiculously dark with a brief chocolate head. (4+)
Aroma full of coffee and dark chocolate. A very nice aroma that also
has some sharp red(?) berry in it.
Very roasted and, unfortunately, ashy in the mouth. Similar finish,
with mostly coffee beans. Some hopping comes through.
Good level of carbonation.
A little alcohol in the ’alcohol test’, but otherwise it’s only a little
heady. Covers 12% by being big rather than sweet.
This is a well-crafted beast but could do with more nuances and less
ash. Gets more velvety.
Unusually, Phil did not share this.
The 3.4 might be an over-rate.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Főzdefeszt 2012 autumn. Dark brown, almost black colored beer with little, brown head. Alcoholly, creamy, hoppy aroma. Roasted malt flavour but not sour. Medim body comared to the amount of alcohol. Medium carbonation (too much a little bit) and creamy texture. Hoppy finish. Good Imperial Stout, esspecially among the Hungarian ones, but it doesn’t compete with the American big brothers. It should have more chocolte, and more intensive malt flavours.

A very nice one from Hungary, thumbs up for this. Very pleasing dark appearance, nice aroma of roasted coffee and malt, as well as a little bit of alcohol. Smooth, velvety dark taste, which matches the aroma. Keep it up.
