3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(330 ml bottle from Csak a Jó Sör, Budapest)
Lovely hop aromas, dusty with a rich floral and forest element but pretty
balanced, with malt underneath.(8-)
Deep brown with a tan head that stays.
Full in the mouth. Very smooth.
Nicely used bittering hops in the finish. They build well.
I can taste some good malts too. There’s a touch of walnut papers in
there and something herbal.
Really quite hoppy, but it works and is not too brash, and it’s nice
that the fruits aren’t identifiable as specific hops. Doesn’t taste
7%. Eminently quaffable.
Unusually, Phil did not share this.

Bottled 330ml. -from Főzdefeszt III, Budapest. Amber coloured, small off-white head, agrumy hoppy nose. Toasted malt, intensive and moderate bitter hoppy taste with light notes of caramel and tropical fruits. Pleasant finish and aftertaste, no trace of alcohol. Enjoyable IPA.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 3, 2012 Draught at the fest, murky coppery beer, slightly off white head, very good head retention. Gluey pear notes, fresh hopiness too, orange rind... the nose is full of promise. Gluey malty taste, apple, obvious work of Belgian yeast, nice, dry bitterness, notes of lime... basically a higher-tier Belgian ale hopped to perfection. The best beer at the festival, hands down. 7/4/8/4/16
Well, I got a bottle for heavy, so I got to try it again with him. Looked basically the same, but this time I was hit by a PERFECT tropical fruit & honey aroma, with a distinct hopiness. As much as it was dominantly Belgian last time, this time the hops take over and rule this, the bitterness hits you up front, with a jaffa cakes background from the maltiness.... tropical fruit again hiding behind the IBU festival. Some apple and wood maybe... oh man this is good. 9-10/4/8/4/16

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
23/06 A 0.33 l bottle courtesy of Marko, great thanks for sharing! It poured hazy orange to brown body with small head. Fine rich aroma of fruit and caramel malts, balanced with nice orange or grapefruit hops. Flavor was a bit lighter than expected, although very tasty when used to it. Balanced between sweet malt like figs, biscuit, caramel and even chocolate and nice orange and herbal hops it basically tastes like a nice jaffa cake. Not very rich in body, just average so, but has very pleasant qualities which resulted in nice long tasty finish, biscuit with dry herbal bitterness. Lot of things here indeed. Wonderful, very close to the first rating of four in over a year!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
.33l bottle from Only Good Beer in Budapest. Gushing pour, with huge (but pretty) tannish head. Big juicy hop aroma, a little less fresh than I’d like. Body goes quite bitter with dry yeast. Lots of sediment and quite hazy, deep orange body. Pineapple, some lemon zest, hits some nice notes. Fantastic IPA out of Hungary, probably the best beer from here that I’ve tried.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Medium to dark brown, opaque with an orange tint and a lasting, white, soapy, thin, light head. Smells of fresh fruit, caramel, herbal tones, grass grain and citrus overtones. Smooth and nice. Medium oily body with a fizzy body. Medium bitterness with a ashy grassy bitter finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
