33cl bottle. A beautiful Indian style Pale Ale! Very hoppy at first sight, but citric and sweet at the end. Medium body, silky Co2, foam is ringing on the glass. Nice reddish-brown colour. My favourite!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 promontor (37) - HUNGARY - JUL 16, 2012
ö.33 bottle collected at the 3rd Főzdefeszt, consumed after 6 weeks or so. (Actually there was another bottle consumed a couple of weeks earlier. That one tasted better and more complex. I tried to "average" the two, but I am writing this rating after the second taste so that has stronger weight in the scores...). Nice, sweetish fruity aroma, very strong in he first bottle, much less in the second. Head is fairly thick, foam tastes creamy and bittersweet. Color is very dark amber. Mild carbonation, silky, creamy taste. Strong fruity bitterness, maybe mandarin or fresh banana. Definite sweet component fighting with the bitterness, maybe a bit syrupy in the end. Aftertaste is mildly bitter, lasts long. A very nice effort, the sweetness could be a bit weaker and he whole composition a bit wilder, but still very promising!
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 japi (109) - Kisvárda, HUNGARY - FEB 19, 2013
A reddish copper coloured beer with an off-white head. Aroma is intense hoppy with piney, resinous, citrusy character. Hoppy flavour with some malty sweetness. Long, bitter and dry hoppy aftertaste. Good one!
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Thomasalias (259) - Budapest, HUNGARY - MAY 10, 2012
On tap at Csakajósör, Budapest. Beautiful, clear, deep amber color with medium, light-brown head. Hoppy aroma with resin, citrus, spices in harmony with the hiding caramel malt. Medium bitter taste, dry because of the resin. Light to medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Hoppy and caramel malty finish - maltier than the aroma. This beer is very delicious. Very good mate for the Grabanc - they are complitely different IPAs, but a very good substition for each other. It’s the first decoction, but it’s already one of the best beers in Hungary.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Marko (3612) - Split, CROATIA - JUN 3, 2012
UPDATED: JUL 3, 2012 Draught at the fest, murky coppery beer, slightly off white head, very good head retention. Gluey pear notes, fresh hopiness too, orange rind... the nose is full of promise. Gluey malty taste, apple, obvious work of Belgian yeast, nice, dry bitterness, notes of lime... basically a higher-tier Belgian ale hopped to perfection. The best beer at the festival, hands down. 7/4/8/4/16
Rerate (bottled): Well, I got a bottle for heavy, so I got to try it again with him. Looked basically the same, but this time I was hit by a PERFECT tropical fruit & honey aroma, with a distinct hopiness. As much as it was dominantly Belgian last time, this time the hops take over and rule this, the bitterness hits you up front, with a jaffa cakes background from the maltiness.... tropical fruit again hiding behind the IBU festival. Some apple and wood maybe... oh man this is good. 9-10/4/8/4/16
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 heavy (1956) - Split, CROATIA - JUL 28, 2012
23/06 A 0.33 l bottle courtesy of Marko, great thanks for sharing! It poured hazy orange to brown body with small head. Fine rich aroma of fruit and caramel malts, balanced with nice orange or grapefruit hops. Flavor was a bit lighter than expected, although very tasty when used to it. Balanced between sweet malt like figs, biscuit, caramel and even chocolate and nice orange and herbal hops it basically tastes like a nice jaffa cake. Not very rich in body, just average so, but has very pleasant qualities which resulted in nice long tasty finish, biscuit with dry herbal bitterness. Lot of things here indeed. Wonderful, very close to the first rating of four in over a year!
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Balazs (654) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 7, 2012
Tried both tap and bottled versions, equally good. Nice belgian style IPA, with the typical honey sweetness and a fine citrusy bitterness. Slightly out of balance yet, but a very nice start for this one. Easy to drink, well done!

Dark amber beer with big off-yellow head. Aroma is IPA-like with fresh veggies and a lot of citruses and hops of course. But the taste is different from other IPAs: sweeter and more ale-like than you would guess from the aroma; some yeast too. Cool beer.

Bottle - Nice amber coloured, small off-white head which goes away . Good for the nose:hoppy & fruity. Taste comes with medium maltiness followed with tons of hop aromas: pine and grapefruit. Alcohol notes well hidden,a bit dry finish. Enjoyed very much!
