Bottle at Volo courtesty Hogtown and tupalev. Near black with a thin head. Fairly chocolatey, with some cocoa and gutted nuts. Tart body with some chocolate, some nuts and cherry. Too much tartness keeps this beer from doing much of anything to interest me, sa the other flavours all become obfuscated.

Lubiere (12769) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 28, 2011
A deep dark porter with a very thin moka head. A sweet bready chocolate aroma, musky, smooth alcohol notes, dark fruits, a bit of wet dough. In mouth, a smooth sweet chocolate with maraschino cherries, plums, some bananas, lingering coffee bitterness, dry and sustained. On tap at St-Bock, April 23rd, 2011.

Bottle - Chocolate, dark fruit and raisin. Deep jet brown with a decent light brown head. Dark sweet chocolate and dark fruit. Nice and slick on the palate. Nice beer.

750 mL bottle shared by Kinz at the 20th Richmond Gathering. Thanks! Pours a dark reddish brown color with a thin tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of dry roast, nuts, mild tart fruity notes. The taste is chocolate, nutty notes, sweet malts, herbal hops. Medium bodied. Nice.

Nowhere as good as the oak-aged, still a decent baltic porter. This has maple syrup, I guess to sweeten the normal style’s sourness. Medium mouthfeel, white bubbly head on black body.

On tap @ local option. Pours a clear dark brown with a creamy light brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces beautifully. Aroma is very creamy dark grains with light coffee with a bit of bitter chocolate. Flavor is creamy coffee and dark chocolate with a bit of dry grain in the finish.

jercraigs (9722) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 4, 2008
2008-05-31. Black body with a nice foamy khaki head. Aroma is surprisingly subtle, mild roast malt, dark malt with tiny touch of acidity, with both the roast and acidity growing as it warms. Flavour has a similarly acidic tang, modest roast over dark malt throughout. (7+) Average to medium bodied palate. Pretty decent but doesn’t quite make it to the next level. Bottle, Mondial, Montreal, 5T

On tap at Pro Pig with Max and Andy. Pours a lightly hazed brown with a medium sized white head. Big sweet roast and caramel. Sweet roast and caramel. Chewy roast. Long sweetness, faint roast, caramel.

Bottle, corked & caged, shared with Robbie. Very gassy pour, nearly a gusher, dark brown, massive head. Acetic sourness and dark fruits, light leather. I’m certain this is infected, but the sour porter character really works for me.

phaleslu (9307) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 2, 2011
Bottle shared by lushawn the night before Dark Lord Day- thanks, Shawn! Pours a deep cola brown color with a big tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, root beer, rust, and dark chocolate. Flavor of sweet and roasted malts, brown sugar, dark chocolate, and earth. Light-medium bodied with surprisingly sharp carbonation and a soda-like mouthfeel. Decent Baltic porter but something seemed off in the way this was carbonated.
