Commercial Description:
Bière de blé d'inspiration belge. Cette bière est aromatisée d'écorces d'orange et de coriandre. D'apparence voilée, c'est une bière très rafraîchissante aux effluves légèrement épicés.

Draft at monks in Philly. Pours a slightly hazy whitish orange body with nice whit foamy head. Aroma is typical witbier. That flavor is smooth, refreshing and delicious.

Draught at TJ’s: Aroma of coriander, yeast, and a little lemon. Poured flaxen/honey/apple juice in color with a medium-sized, white head that disappeared over time. Cloudy. Not sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of coriander, wheat, and light spices. Medium body. Thinish, then dry texture. Average carbonation. Coriander finish. Lots of coriander.

750 mL bottle (Trade from JulienHuxley). Bit of a gusher when opened, but that may simply be due to interprovincial shipping. Cloudy orange with golden highlights. Large white head shrinks, but never disappears. Coriander, a bit of orange, black pepper, and wheat in the nose. Flavour is interesting, and is different from many of those identical wits available out there. For starters, it’s a little spicier, but it’s not just coriander. It is spice is subtle in strength, but complex in flavour. Wheat and citrus are in balance. There is also a fruity sweetness that lingers through the finish, mingled with a mild bitterness. Body is quite full, for the style. Excellent brew. Thanks, Julien.

Bottle from Fred82. Pours a cloudy, straw yellow. Aroma is tart with lemon and malt. Taste is tart with citrus fruit. Dry mouthfeel with popping flavours of yeast, grain and little subtle flavours that really come out as you savor this beer. My first Hopfenstark and definitely not my last.

750 ml bottle via JulienHuxley, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Cloudy orange-golden with a large white foam. Aroma: Quite Saison-sorta-Lambic-ish with some definite Brett notes, bitter herbs and sourness, lots of thick yeast and bread dough, some nice bright citrus notes, bread and toast, raw wheat, earthy coriander. Palate: Medium body and quite lively effervescence. Flav.: Lots of lemony zing, wheat, plenty of Brett funk and brightness, still some nice wheat and light esters, earthy coriander, yeast/bread dough; off-dry with a bit of bitterness, light tang and a pleasant citrusy finish.

Quite different and pleasant. May have been a mistake, but it is a fortunate error. Reminds me a great deal of Orval. Huh...

Orange pour with thin white head. Aroma is rather weak a bit of spice, citrusand orange peel. Good full mouthfeel, verry little carbonation. Taste is rather bready, orange and herbal. Good balance.
