COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s not a smoke beer. It’s not a tart Berliner Weisse. It’s maybe a weird saison. BerlinerRauchSaison. Yes! Low gravity beer with good presence of wheat. A small layer of smoke malt disappears after a few sips. And light tartness and spice from the Saison yeast. Refreshing and flavourful at the same time.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2013 I love the style "season". However, I do not like smoked beers. The Boson has opened my horizons to that style. Light mouthfeel. Delicate flavors.

Bouteille de 750ml. Quel heureux mélange. Le fumé est très bien dosé par rapport au coté sur. Dommage qu’elle ne reste pas longtemps en bouche. J’aurais pris une version plus forte en alcool.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 7/2014. Pours hazy bright golden color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, bread, wood smoke, hay, straw, grass, clove, pepper, light vinegar/funk, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, smoke, and light funk notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, bread, wood smoke, hay, straw, grass, clove, pepper, light vinegar/funk, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy/smokey yeast spiciness and slight tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, wheat, cracker, bread, wood smoke, hay, straw, grass, clove, pepper, light vinegar/funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, smoke, and light funky flavors; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 3.8%. Overall this is a very nice and unique session smoked saison style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, smoke, and light funky flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. Even with the unique flavor profile and style mixture, everything came together very nicely. A very enjoyable offering.

Sample, pours golden color. Notes are sweet malt, light meat or smoke, and some dark fruits. Flavor is most of same with a decent amount of sweetness and not much Berliner qualities. More of a rauch saison or something.

Bottle. While Big Bang Theory. Yellow pour with white head, tons of sediment. Smokey, fruit and wheat aromas, maybe a tart hint. More smoke and peat tones, light wheat, touch of sweetness, no real sour tones.

On tap at Pro Pig in a tulip: Pours hazy straw with a thin white head. Aroma of light smoke, grass, funk, and light citrus. Taste is smokey up front, but is quickly replaced by tart fruits and a dry yeasty flavor at the end. Light to medium body, strong carbonation, very tasty.

Bottle, 115 13. A slow, to a somewhat geological extent, gusher that pours hazy light yellow with a nice dense creamy head. Aroma is quite tart and yeasty, with whiffs of smoky bonfire and sausage water, as well as nice fruity hops with passion fruits and apricots. Full body with average carbonation. Flavour is tart with spicy yeast, roasted malts with wood and smoke as well as hoppy apricots and orange peel. Nice lingering yeasty finish.

Purchased at a Duchesse d’Aiguillon in Quebec City. Franmly, there’s not a lot going on here: apperance is simu to a saison or like a Berlinerweiss. Little aroma or flavour.

On tap at Vices et Versa. God I love the name on this beer. it is a cloudy light straw gold. It has a mild fruity earthy aroma.  The taste is earthy, lots of maple, smokey, honey glazed ham - good stuff. Very good stuff especially when you consider the low ABV.

11/11/8/9/8/10

Bottle from Vaaland. Pours unclear weak golden with a huge frothy white head. Aroma is surprisingly some smoked and cured meat, weak fruits. Taste is light sweet, very subdued smoke, more fresh fruits, high carbonated, dry yet creamy mouthfeel, lots of spicy undernotes towards the lingering finish, a very good summer beer
