2 year old bottle (only 1 of 2 bottle sold on this occasion) at Hopfenstark 3rd anniversary party. Poured an hazy peach brew with a very tiny head. Aroma is sour raspberries, wheat, honey, oak and herbs. Flavor is sour raspberries, wheat, malt, citrus, and berliner weisse like flavor. Very good all around fruit beer.

750ml bottle at Host 3rd anniv, 1 years old, shared by MJGG (ty !).Pours hazy yellow with a small head. Aroma is fruity, tart and funky raspberries. Taste is a bit light but still tart and quite fruity. A bit grainy. Very drinkable. Nice funk and tart on nose and taste. Truly a great beer. I also had this year’s version of the beer and it was quite different. Lots of vinegar, some butter and less fruits. I would give that one a 3.4/5.

1 an. (Rating #2780)

750 ml bottle. 1 year oak aged tasted @ Host 3rd anniversary. Hazy gold pour, with a reddish pink look almost no head. Well felt raspberry and oak sourness aromas with a hint of candy. Taste is all raspberries and lambic-like sourness. Pretty aggressive carbonation in this one leaves a very dry and enjoyable mouthfeel.

Hazy peach in colour with a thin white head, patchy lacing. The aroma is wheaty, light fruit with only some raspberries, some tartness. The flavour is sharp, acidic, light in the raspberries again, some sweetness. Sour mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes sharp and acidic before turning sweet.

The aroma makes it seems like you shouldn’t expect much but the flavour and finish make up for that. A bit light on the raspberries though, the result of the oak aging?

Bottle at Mondial 2008, Montreal, Quebec.
Sampled on May 30, 2008.

Sour aroma is almost lambic-like but there are some sweet vanilla notes and an almost floral. soap-like component. Hazy amber coloured body is topped by a thin, white, large bubbled, fully diminishing head. Tart raspberry flavour with some lactic character. Wheat and raspberries linger in the aftertaste. I’m getting more fruit than funk but the underlying character is certainly Belgian inspired. Medium-light body with moderate unobtrusive carbonation that neither helps nor hinders enjoyment. Tulip glass. Bottle purchased at the brewery Jun-08.
