Hazy, light red pink body with no head. Light sour ’funk’ flavour is like fruity raspberry sour juice from a barrel. Medium body, sour. Enjoyable.

This is the raspberry juiced beer aged for 3 months in oak, . The aroma is of the oak. The woody taste dominates. Much more enjoyable than a fruit beer. Pyrozoid (352), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 7, 2008 500 ml bottle via Lubiere (merci!), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. Gushed slightly. Bottle labelled as 5% alc.
App.: A pretty violent shade of orange-pink (deeper than ruby red grapefruit juice), cloudy, a weak light pink head.
Aroma: A Lambic/Saison-esque funk, lots of bright organic acids, white pepper, certainly some berries behind that (raspberries or power of suggestion...?), a touch of biscuit or some slightly more inviting malt aromas, a bit of buttery vanilla, light spicy lemon.
Palate: Medium-thin body, slightly slick, absolutely no carbonation.
Flav.: Much more raspberry than the nose, with the funk and acids taking a backseat, a wee bit more of the light malts and vanilla than the nose (or at least they can escape the tang) fairly tart, but not objectionable, leaves a light biscuit/cookie aftertaste; no alcohol whatsoever.
An interesting brew. I would like to drink it cold on a patio, except that I would be embarrassed by the colour. JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 3, 2008 Bottle. Bright red colour with a light pink moussey head. Aroma is very oaky and vanillaish with lots of buttery chardonnay-like character. As it warms there is a lovely light raspberry fruitiness that comes out. Light leathery aroma and a touch of lemony citrus on the back. Light acidity that accentuates the crisp dryness of this beer. It’s sort of like drinking prosecco, with the same level of drinkability. As it warms more of the raspberry aroma comes out of the glass. I would love to be able to get my hands on more of this stuff. golubj (1287), Sunnyvale, California, USA

Aroma is woody, some leather, and citrus tartness as well. Noticed somewhat high carbonation in the mouthfeel. Flavor is tart citrus, maybe a hint of raspberry, some leather, and wood in the finish. puzzl (2619), New York, New York, USA

Tons of oak in the aroma, very buttery, chesnut, light yeast. Very pink pour. Flavor has more raspberry but less of everything else. Does not taste like fruit extract but is a bit thin. Needs a bit more body, but overall this is quite well done. Just needs more oomph.
