3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Johnsense (454) - - MAR 30, 2013
Part of the easter Hopfenstark cellar purge since im visiting quebec very soon. Blonde pour, pink hues. Decent carbonation despite sitting in the basement for a while. Sour raspberry in the aroma, barnyard funk, yeast. Lots of funk up front, hints of fresh raspberry, wheat, fairly tart. Refreshing, lighter body. Age did this one some favours. Very drinkable.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Thorpe429 (4844) - , Illinois, USA - MAR 9, 2013
On tap at Prohibition Pig last weekend. Pours golden with a slight pink hue. The nose is full of earthy raspberries, a bit of spice, and mild acidity. Flavor balances the base with underlying raspberry flavor and acidity quite well. Light body with crisp carbonation. Very easy drinking. Excellent beer.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Reynolds314 (1480) - Connecticut, USA - MAR 3, 2013
Lightly tart and a bit artificially sweet and fruity. Interesting saison like elements add to the beer with esters and a bit of peppery bite. The raspberries are big in this and overall pretty nice.

Sample at pro pig, deliciously tart, subtly charming raspberry flavors, clean and enticing

Aroma of very tart yeast, blue cheese, and cherries. Pours hazy blonde with a lot of bubbly head. Taste is very bleachy with wheat, raspberry and citrus. Very mild mannered and weird tasting. Probably wouldn’t go out of my way to grab this.

750 ml bottle from Flaveurs d’ici A: wheat, spice, rapsberry. App: clear blond small white rim good lacing. T/p : thin body with acidic medium long finish medium carbonation. Good. A nice thirst quencher. Sure there’s not much fruit but I’m tired of those pinkish rapsberry that are simply to sweet. The subtle aroma mixed with spiciness of this brew make it enjoyable.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Marheb (1178) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 26, 2012
Extrêmement pale et effervescent, presque mousseux, moyennement acidulé et d’une légèreté digne d’une bière encore plus petite qu’annoncé.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Whatup14 (305) - Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 11, 2012
Bouteille 750ml.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Huhzubendah (1980) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 2, 2012
On draft at Churchkey in D.C.
The beer is a light hazy yellow hue. The head is rather small, but hangs around for a considerable time. The aroma is of berries and fruit with a little farm funkiness. I think I like it. The aroma is better than the taste, but the beer is good nonetheless. The feel is somewhat thin and the flavor fades too quickly. This is an interesting beer and worth a try, should you come across it.

First Hopfenstark I’ve gotten ahold of. Smells like raspberry. Taste has a little sourness. Pours without any head, no lacing. Cloudy blonde. Palate doesn’t last too long except for a little berry sourness. Very average fruit beer. On tap at the Saint Bock.
