750mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours black with a medium foamy tan / light brown head. Aroma of fresh hops, moderate roasted malt, a bit of chocolate and a bit of coffee. Flavour brings out coffee, fresh hops galore, biscuity malt, and a little burnt stuff. The fresh hops come out big time here, leaving notes of fresh hops and roasted malt. Full-bodied and super easy drinking. Great stuff.

(Dégustée en fût à l’aveugle, dans un verre noir, dans le cadre de l’Iris du goût) - Nez de caramel avec un peu de houblon. En bouche, le malt grillé se mélange avec un soupçon de noisettes et un peu de fumée. Alcool peu perceptible.

On tap @ L’Hermite (Victoriaville). Dark brown with a small beige head and some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, nuts and grains. Taste is about the same with a slight hoppy finish. Not too sweet. Medium body. Ok Foreign Stout, but nothing exceptionnal.

Bouteille 750ml.

Black pour with a nice mocha head. Big aroma of piney hops and chocolate - like a black IPA on steroids. Bitter up front, Grapefruit and pine hops, fresh black coffee, dark chocolate, toasted malt, chesnutt. Thick mouthfeel, lace everywhere on the glass. A very interesting drinker for after dinner or to bunker up with during the frankenstorm.

Dark brown with a bubbly head. Smells lightly fruity and like it will be creamy. It is creamy with sugars - maybe too many but it is a foreign stout so there is leeway with that. Not much nuance, and perhaps lacks the heft, fruit and alcohol of the style. Reminds me of an oversized Irish stout.

Draft at Mondial. Nice head, black body. Distinct apple pie aroma, which is unexpected and out of place. The baked apple comes out more in the flavors. Silky palate. Different. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Tap and Mallet. Black with a frothy brown head. Herbal nose, almost minty. Full body, but so easy to drink. Nice cocoa flavor, bold palate. This is a great harvest stout. The combination of the stout intensity and the clean freshness of the hops is amazing. Great stuff.
