Tap at the brewpub’s anniversary party. Dark pour, creamy tan head. Nice dry grain aromas, very roasted, hops, toasted nuts, some coffee. Taste is well balanced for a strong stout. Slight grainy sweetness easily leveled by the hops and toast flavors. Palate is just creamy enough to coat the inside of the mouth, very enjoyable.

Draft at GM with Andrew, Streets and Brendan. Pours a deep brown almost black body with thin brown lacing. Aroma is nice roasted malts and biscuity. Mouthfeel is great - some dryness, notes of great roast, bitter chocolate - and something sweet.

On tap at the Ginger Man during their Hopfenstark event. Pours a deep black with a thin beige to tan head. Lightly sweet and floral, toast and roast, and wood. Smooth and sweet, fine carbonation, chocolate and toast and roast. Dark fruit. Chewy roast, chocolate and tannins. Lots of bitter cocoa, chocolate and char on the finish.

Cask. Rich cocoa with a lot of soft sweetness. Chewy but not cloying. Dark appearance with a thin brown head. Tasty stuff.

Tap at Local Option. Dark black pour, off white head that laces a little bit. Aroma of fresh brewed coffee. Flavor is vanilla coffee ice cream bit with more roast than sweetness. Medium full palate. A good, good beer.

Black pour with a nice mocha head. Big aroma of piney hops and chocolate - like a black IPA on steroids. Bitter up front, Grapefruit and pine hops, fresh black coffee, dark chocolate, toasted malt, chesnutt. Thick mouthfeel, lace everywhere on the glass. A very interesting drinker for after dinner or to bunker up with during the frankenstorm.

Une base chocolatée agrémenté de menthe et de cannelle, vraiment surprenant. En voyant que c’est brassé avec des houblons frais, je comprend mieux ce qui l’était un peu moins en la buvant.

Draft at Pro Pig. Pours a rich black color with a khaki finger of foam. Roasted chocolate, smooth creamy mouthfeel, touches of coffee and dark fruit. Long roast on the finish with a touch of grassy bitterness.

Drank on tap (12 oz) at Le St. Bock in Montreal, on October 30, 2010. Burnt brown, thin beige head. Barley malt aroma with notes of sweet chocolate, a bit hoppy. Taste of malted barley, a good combination of cocoa and bitter hops, very warm in the mouth. Finaly an harvest ale that I realy like, with some black IPA and some stout!
