Light roast aroma, some chocolate. Great taste - old style porter with lots of roast and a hint of sourness, very dry. Solid porter! GregClow (2516), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Aroma of roasted malt, molasses, bakers chocolate and a bit of smoke. Light bodied. Flavour starts roasty and quite full, with some pleasant slightly lactic sourness in the middle, and a moderately dry finish. Could use a bit more body, but otherwise, a very nice porter. rodenbach99 (711), Longueuil, Quebec, Canada

Belle robe noire, onctueuse. Mousse mocha qui disparaît rapidement. On retrouve un intéressant goût de fumée et elle demeure très douce en bouche. Le houblon est très présent en arrière-goût. De façon surprenante, la torréfaction est presque totalement absente. DYCSoccer17 (2201), Davis, California, USA

Strange aroma--kind of fruity and sweet. Smells quite green. I do not detect the expected roastiness that are characteristic of porters. Quite opaque dark brown/black-colored body with a brown head that is medium in size. A bit quickly dissipating. Chalky, cocoa powder, bitter start. Light malty sweetness is present in the middle with a touch of anise later on. Burnt popcorn is in the finish. This is a jumbled beer that is kind of harsh and not overly enjoyable. beerbuzzmontreal (2946), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 21, 2007 Tap at Vices and Versa. Black body topped by a medium tan head. By the number porter with a medium body containing an average amount of dark malts. Not much roastiness there. Flavours of figs and dates and maybe some oats. Overall impression of a grocery store Date Square. A bit meaty but not necessarily in a bad way. Very competent but if I had to guess the meaning of its name, it would be the number of similar porters out there.
