MartinT (4497), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Nov 27, 2008 My Bottom Line:
An intricate interplay of crisp cereals, wooden dryness and citrusy tartness maintains itself throughout this slender and quenching oak-aged Golden Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the hazy blonde.
-The tartness can easily be predicted from the aroma; it never overwhelms the blonde ale within though, which is nice.
-The body is a tad lighter than the regular Ostalgia Blonde.
-Carbonation is prickly and, teamed up with the tartness and lean body, makes for some very easy drinking.
-This is a compelling twist on their regular Ostalgia Blonde, one which is able to retain its initial character while offering a completely side of itself.
Bottle at the brewery tasting room.
Glouglouburp (2157), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jan 9, 2009 In short: A slightly wild woody blonde ale of some kind. Very good and original.
How: Bottle 750ml, first batch ever. Shared by Rastacouere at brewery 2nd anniversary party
The look: Almost clear blonde body topped by a very small white head
In long: Nose is slightly funky, those Hopfenstark barrels are definitely developing a Jolly Pumpkin-ish funkiness. Unsurprisingly considering the original beer there’s a whole lot of cereals in this baby. But the crispiness and light tartness of the original Blonde is replaced here by a woody honey/caramel mixture. The crisp dry hops presence of the original Blonde have vanished during the barrel maturation. The end-result is an interesting slightly wild woody blonde ale of some kind that is unfortunately inferior to the excellent crisp and refreshing regular Blonde. A very good beer but with the superior and cheaper regular Blonde more easily available I can’t imagine myself buying a bottle of this Oak Aged version. Well, actually I can imagine myself buying a bottle of that. I can also imagine myself banging Paris Hilton. Doesn’t mean it will happen.
