COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 A: Pale amber-gold body. Moderate head. Not the greatest retention. Good lacing left on the glass. S: A bit of noble hops. Herbal and floral bitterness. Tea like notes. T: More of the same herbal character from the nose. Limited malt presence. Slightly bitter overall. M: Slightly thin bodied. Bitter finish. Not crisp, nor refreshing, however. Lingering finish. O: Uninspired. Not particularly bad... simply bland.

750 ml bottle, no label. Thanks to Phil for these cool Canadian IPAs. Misty brown with a huge, craggy off-white head leaving chunks of lace. Nose is custard, meadow and lemon cookies. Juicy medium light with a tang and delightful effervescence. Taste is lemon, limeade, candi and grass. Finishes a bit earthy adding a nice rustic quality. Loved it.

Drank this in Montréal at vice versa. (pub were they have more than 30 beers on tap). Of all the beers I tried there (12 tasters in 2 days) this was hands down the best. Unlike most of the beers from micro breweries in quebec, this beer doesn’t go overboard with a heavy hoppy taste. Taste is complex. Earthy. Very pleasing and well balanced.

Burnt orange beer with a lovely, expressive aroma of peaches, honey, perfume and malt. It’s a bit minty with a stark or flat bittersweetness that always seems more prevalent than its generally pleasant, if basic, hop flavor. Sharp but not abrasive palate; lingering bitterness and biscuit flavor. Only quite average.

Bottle courtesy of SFLpunk. Served in a tulip. Pours a clear light amber color with a thin off-white head. Good spotty lacing and a few bubbles on top. The nose carries a bit of light malt and some very faint citrus. The flavor is bready with a bit of caramel and some citrus and floral hops. Light fruit and a bit of cherry. Medium body with moderate carbonation and a light bitterness in the finish. Tastes slightly oxidized with a bit of cardboard. Okay beer, though not up to par with good versions of this style. Cloudy amber with a large white creamy head. Aroma is resin and flowery hops with caramel malts. Full body with medium carbonation. Flavours are caramel, bitter with a nice citrus taste and warming alcohol. Residual sugar brings a nice balanced with the hops.

Draught at Vices & Versa, Montréal, QC.
Clear deep amber colour with small off-white head. Very mild soda like fruitiness and citrusness in aroma. Dark fruity hops, some bitterness and soda like sweetness in flavour. Bitterness in aftertaste.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2011 Fairly fresh bomber from the brewery. Pours copper/amber colour with a 2 finger head that disappeared quickly but laced as the glass emptied. Aroma of Piney Hops nicely balanced with Sweet malts. Taste of Pine Hops and enough Biscuit Malts, Caramel and a bit of spice to ensure this is not a hop bomb, but an IPA for fans of balance. Bitter, but not to the point of destroying your tongue, Medium Bodied, creamy with low carbonation. HoST is one of Quebec’s better brewers and this IPA is well balanced, though on tap the citrus is more prominent.

Bouteille 750 ml. 6.5%.
