3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Enjoyed at Volo. Appearance - Ruby red, very little visible head. Aroma - Deep grassy aroma with barley and malt in there too, some mild lemon detected. Flavour - was bitter with malt and grass, some hints of a traditional IPA but with an underlining grassyness.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2014 [1272-20080410] bottle. Evergreen pine hops aroma with bitter sweat lemon zest. Hazy, brown orange body with a long-lasting creamy white head and lattice lacing. Lightly sweaty pine hops flavour with light citrus lemon zest and lots of bitterness. Medium body is bitter. Seems a little dulled down, but still impressive. (7/4/7/4/14) 3.6

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Citrus (grapefruit, tangerine) and woody hops in the nose with a nice supporting round malt sweetness. Opaque and very hazy deep copper brown body is topped by a dense and sticky off white head that coats the sides of the glass with lace. Nice thick chewy malts are apparent and balance nicely with moderate bitterness. Citrus and biscuity flavours are lingering in the aftertaste. Round thick and full in the mouth with somewhat low gentle, soft carbonation that leaves it seeming like real ale despite being served on draught. Perhaps a touch sweet in the finish. Sampled on tap at the brewery tap room in mid-June.

Tap @ Vices et Versa. Pours hazy orange with a slight white head. Aroma of grapefruits and pine needles. Hoppy for sure. Taste is hop heavy, grapefruity and very refreshing. Good mouthfeel and finishes bitter. A very solid IPA.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Appears to be a 500ml brown bottle. Guessing on the size as there is no label per se, just a white sticker with "Postcolonial IPA 6.5%" handwritten on it. (Hand?)Bottle from Goldorak. Head started to creep out the bottleneck immediately after uncapping. Very heady pour, 2 fingers plus worth of whitish cream, gernerous lacing on the glass. The beer itself is a hazy amber-orange. It absolutely glows when held up to the light. Hoppy aroma, a mix of oranges with grapefruit and lemon peel notes. Flavour was a bit unexpected - sweet orange hop flavours, lemon acidity, drier malts, some spiciness, earthiness, leather, finishes grapefruity. Some other raters noticed it as well (I thought I may have been imagining it), but theres some resemblance to Orval or De Ranke XX in this brew, which is a good thing in my opinion. Excellent beer. It’s beer like this that make trading so rewarding. Thanks again Goldorak.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hand bottled (with an itsy bitsy leak)... Cloudy golden ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Spicy phenols, herbal hops and apple/pear esters dominate, olfactory-wise. Medium-bodied with spunky carbonation. Middle-of-the-road bitter; lightly acidic; herbal & spicy. Lengthy, fairly bitter, tongue-numbing (think Novocain) finish. Has some Orval qualities... that means it’s strange, but brilliantly - or maybe by accident - pretty darn good. Many thanks to Glouglouburp for taking the time to bottle and ship this one!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle shared by puzzl. There was quite some confusion and discussion about this beer, but we’ve managed to agree to rate it. Deep amber beer with some thick white head. Quite yeasty. The aroma is very fruity and estery with lots of berry/apple aroma and a touch of light spice and banana. There is a bit of earthy/woody hoppiness as well, but this is more prominent in the flavour than it is on the nose. Lightly leathery and fruity with a bit of mintiness on the back. Some lingering orange peel and dusty bitterness as well. Completely different in bottles apparently than it is on tap.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Same bottle as puzzl, shared by the brewer. Amber-orange-yellow pour. Aroma is sweet fruit / banana, belgian yeastiness. The flavor has this aspect as well, but with some typical grainy malt, and grassy / resiny hops in the finish. Mild amount of bitterness. Same confusion as to whether this is actually an IPA or some blend.
