(Rating #2783)

Tap @ Host 3rd anniversary. Pale hazy gold pour with great white head. Lot’s of sour brett aromas, raw bread dough and the likes. Quite the dry sour taste with just a hint of cookie like sugar for perfect balance, beautiful saison.

Mondial 2009, Montreal. Cloudy creamsicle orange with a film of head. Smells like a sweetish saison (spice, citrus, barnyard, icing sugar). Lots of citrus (lemon, grapefruit) in the flavour. Perfect sourness. Clean, crisp and dry. Excellent saison - probably the best in Canada.

Glass at Hopfenstark. Perfect pour, light amber with a nice white creamy head. Aroma is sour and bretty. Taste is bretty and sour. Finish is sour. it was great but I’m still not a Brett guy, i still need some time. I will surely revisit this in the future. Rating #117. Re-rate at Host 3rd anniv. Overall from 16 to 14.

Glass at Hopfenstark. Dark hazy yellow. Strong zesty nose. Lemon body with less zest than was in the scent. Aftertaste is cool; lemon, zesty better than initial taste.

Bottled, by hand? A golden beer with a thin bubbly head. The aroma is sweet with citrusy notes and a bit of acidity. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw and citrus, leading to a lightly tart finish. Nice.

Cloudy orange in colour - grapefruit juice looking, no head, no lacing. The aroma is of citrus, lemon and peaches, light brett, spice. The flavour has some sweetness, spice, grapefruit, must, brett and yeast. Tangy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes dry, long, soft with some citrus.

Good stuff, I quite enjoyed the grapefruit in this. Quite tangy and very refreshing.

Bottle at Mondial 2008, Montreal, Quebec.
Sampled on May 29, 2008.
